I try to be more direct on my comment so that travelers are easiler to understand: Bad points: There are a lot of hardwares stores near the hotel, you feel like that you were in the wrong place in the begining. Our room door is opening outside therefore you have to make sure that you are not blocking other people... More

The location of the hotel is fine, it is located between the Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Metro station and the Euljiro 4(sa)-ga Metro station, you have to walk about 10 min to the former one and about 5 min to the latter one. Since the Dongdaemun shopping area is close to the former station, it would be quite harsh... More

We travelled to Seoul in early July 2012 and were recommended this hotel by our travel agent. Normally we do our own research and book ourselves but due to the time frame we trusted the agent. Now we were not expecting anything exciting but a hotel that we can live for a three days and have no troubles or difficulties... More

I stayed there for 4 nights in Mid May 2012.my friend had stayed there twice and claimed the room is much more spacious than this time. The most charming factor is excellent Dongdaemon. Accessible by airport shuttle 6001( stop in front of Western Co-opt residence, which is adjacent to Hotel Acacia). However, I took the airport commuter line with 6... More

We stayed at the hotel in Jan 2012. The hotel is very close to Dongdaemon, there's an underground passage that leads to Dongdaemon and subway station, it was convenient since when went in winter and it was very cold outside. The room is decent size, every room has a computer and there's free wifi. However there was a problem with... More

A spin off my ski trip in Dec 2011, stopover at Seoul for 2 nights, prior no knowledge of Seoul, Location , adverstised as Dongdaemum area , indeed, not exactly, there is underground shopping street in front of hotel to connect to those fashion malls in Dongdaemum. Winter in Seoul is cold with strong windchill, recommend to go for this... More

Yes, apparently they advertise as a 4-star hotel, according to what scale I have no idea. Not as advertised, especially if you get a standard room. Small room with a small window painted over white. The bathroom is not separated from the bedroom, so you can (with some stretch) sit on the bed as you brush your teeth at the... More

It takes 10 mins walking to metro station, either Dongdamun or Uijiro Station. It is more expensive than other hotels nearby, eg Western Co-op. The room has only 1 tiny window, with no curtain... The feeling is so bad even my room has a good view (13/F).

The hotel is easily reached by airport bus, convenient, near metro/subway, it is in the Dongdaemun area. Room is spacious with big beds and computer with internet access, thought sometimes painfully slow. The hotel lobby is a bit worn out and needs a facelift, staff and receptionist are polite and friendly. Beds are comfy, and is quiet I can have... More

Staying in Dongdaemun / Sindangdong

Neighborhood Profile
Dongdaemun / Sindangdong
For shopping enthusiasts, Dongdaemun is a must visit. Enormous shopping centers – stacked with multiple levels of boutique and independent shops – offer the latest in Korean fashion, cosmetics, accessories, and other goods while prices are relatively low. The night shopping (between late night and early morning) is particularly well known here, making Dongdaemun a place where you can literally shop until you drop. If fashion isn't what you’re looking for, the long-running wholesale markets nearby sell everything from cloth to utensils at lower prices. The rows of food stalls that set up at night ensure shoppers get refueled, and foodies will enjoy checking out nearby Sindang-dong’s Tteokbokki Town as well as some non-Korean offerings from the Central Asian Village near Dongdaemun.
