Stayed for one night here at hotel President. First room we was shown was pretty smelly and certainly seen better days . The second was a little better and although nothing great. If you want a shower be prepared to run the water for a while until it loses its brown colour. Room rate was reasonable although breakfast was a... More

We were not in the main building but in a smaller building across from the hotel with a better price, not so expensive. The room was absolutely fine, with large windows and a balcony. The bathroom was a bit so-so, but it went well. The restaurant almost too luxurious for the food that was not so very good. Not bad,... More

This is a quite decent international-style hotel. Rooms are ok at a quite reasonable price. Rooms in the "batiment" are comparable to those in the tower but cheaper. The top-restaurant is highly recommended - very nice ambience, good food, friendly waiters with French chansons. A nice, clean pool and some bars. You won't have much to complain even though it... We went for a two day trip to visit the sites in Yamoussoukro. We booked the "Club Evasions" rate, including Breakfast and Dinner, which ended up being fairly reasonable. We had two connecting rooms in the outlying building (not the tower), in order to accommodate our two children and us more comfortably. We ate breakfast in the tower both mornings... More

First of all, it's the fanciest hotel in Cote d'Ivoire that we had visited. We arrived to the hotel, and brought in the bags ourselves. While checking in, we were met with a less than inviting staff. They seemed disinterested in serving us. Next to us, other guests were checking in and seemed to receive warmer service. When they asked... More

Do you like time travel? Because when you get into this hotel you will be brought back to the '70s! The furniture, stule, everything reminds of that period. Ask for a room in the tower, one that had not been refurbished and you will enjoy history! The swimming pool is fantastic. You can order drinks or even very good sandwiches.... More

This was once “the hotel” in Cote d’Ivoire and could still be the 5 stars providing maintenance is being attended to. Located slightly on the outskirt of town with wide garden and space surrounding it. It has two main parts: the high-rise hotel topped by its main restaurant giving you and impressive view of the city during the day and... More

I'm sitting in my room at the Hotel President as I write. It must have been magnificent when it was built in the late '70s, and it still retains a solid air of elegance and style, albeit shabby elegance and retro style. I really quite like it. And the restaurant on the 14th floor with the 360 degree view of... More

The President Yamoussoukro is one of the remarquable relics from the "golden age" of Ivory Coast. It was probably a very luxurious property in the 80's, but nothing has changed since that time... (same furniture, same carpets, etc.) Rooms are a bit smelly but remains clean and pleasant. There are 2 buildings: the tower and the annex. Everytime I visited... More

Definetely the best option for Yamossoukro, if not the only. Obviously aging, the hotel still retains the atmosphere of booming 80ies in cote d'Ivoire.Still, as the hotel is about 20-years old, it hasn't gone through any renovation. No surprise that Intercontinental stopped operating it. Rooms are large, lobby and panoramic restaurant very impressive. Don't miss the Basilica view from the... More
