The view of the lake and pool area is grand and highly recommended. The "city view" side which we tried during a second stay is much less attractive. The only disadvantage is that large receptions are frequently held in the pool garden (3 out of 4 nights we stayed there). It gets noisy and crowded. But you can escape to... More

The Chatrium is a very comfortable and well run; the staff were helpful in every way and spoke excellent English (and other languages). Breakfast, served on the pool level, has almost any cuisine imaginable, eastern or western, though the room's layout resembles a maze more than a restaurant. Drink the tea; it;s better than the coffee. Spacious and well appointed... More

Spent 3 nights at this hotel on a wonderful tour. The rooms were nice, Internet worked well, and we even used the gym. Wished we had time to sit around the beautiful pool. But with so much to see that will have to wait for our next trip to Yangon.

The Chatrium is a well maintained hotel, very clean with good sized rooms and bathroom with an excellent shower. We had breakfast and dinner as part of the package, they were buffet style and excellent. The hotel is located a fair way out from the centre of town but that is not a problem with taxi transport readily available and... More

Stayed a week for work/in-hotel team meeting. Being picked up by the hotel car was a good start, while it was a long trip (45-50mins) due to midday traffic, $50 might be a bit much. I've stayed in a lot of Asia hotels for work over the last 15 years, this hotels facilities & room were just average, but I... More

The entrance was large and spacious; there were many places to sit relax and others to meet and have a drink; the garden very pleasant with a large very clean pool. Our room was large and clean. The bathroom was also spacious and clean with the usual travel needs and then a few. Breakfast was of a very large variety... More

The main attraction of this hotel was, I read, its lovely pool and grand terrace, while the hotel itself is a bit dated but luxurious by Burmese standards. After a long day sight-seeing, we were looking forward to a refreshing swim in the pool and apéritif on the terrace.Unfortunately, on both nights we stayed there, hotel résidents were barred from... Difficult review this. Hotels are expensive in Myanmar (Burma)- I am told that this is because there is a shortage of good quality accommodation; but they would say that, wouldn’t they? So, I booked the Chatrium at $280 per night. When I arrived, I was told “Good News’ we’ve upgraded you to a room we normally charge more than $350... More

We stayed here for 3 nights after our river cruise. We had stayed at the Governor's residence before the cruise. We booked an executive room with lake and pagoda views. It was about 40% of the rate of the cheapest room category at the Governor's residence.Yet it was a bigger room, quieter, had a bath and shower against just a shower, more light and did not... I had stayed in a couple of other decent hotels in Myanmar and stated here on my last night in country before flying out. It was a great choice as it was very large and comfortable, definitely worth a little extra money. The rooms are not ultra modern but had a kind of colonial feel to them, with teak closets... More
