No problems here, a quality hotel chain living up to its reputation. For the same money as the Chatrium, the Shangri-La beats it into a cocked hat. Simply: good, and what you would expect: a good, fully equipped, room, fast Wi-Fi, comfortable bed. Just what a hotel room should be. Add to this a very good restaurant and a great... More

We chose the Shangri-La hotel in Yangon because we've stayed in Shangri-La hotels in Singapore and Borneo and thought they were the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The Yangon hotel is more of a business travellers hotel than a tourists hotel. An ugly, high rise hotel located in the middle of the city with average size rooms, no balconies... More

We spent two nights here. One when we arrived in Myanmar and one when we left. Both were quick so I can't speak in much detail but I did want to comment it is a beautiful hotel. Lovely lobby and rooms. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive in checking us in and out and making sure we were comfortable.

We spent there 2 nights with my two friends, and were satisfied to the hotel and room, even though room could have been larger. We didn't have dinner or lunch at the hotel, but breakfast was great. Instead we had dinner at the local restaurants (which I can recommend to the daring travallers). Hotesl swimming pool was a refreshing experience... More

This busy hotel, situated in the heart of Yangon, is no visual masterwork. Yet the attentive service and excellent dining make up for the rather ordinary appearance of the public areas and the guest rooms. We stayed a total of six nights in Horizon Club rooms and were very pleased with every aspect of our stay. The Horizon Club people... More

The name has been changed from The Traders hotel but the property remains at a high level. Food and drink are good. The bar on the second floor has a great happy hour but it's very smoky so get a table outside it if you want to breathe. I recommend upgrading to the higher floors to get the club access... More

Spent two nights at the Sule Shangri La in Yangon, as usual Shangri La doesn't dissapoint, service was marvelous, rooms clean and the food was very tasty. If there was a downside it was waiting for over half an hour for a drink in the lounge, but I figure I can overlook that and give them a big thumbs up.

We spent three nights here over New Year 2014/15 as part of a group tour of Myanmar. We found Yangon exciting but very, very tiring after long flights from London via Bangkok. The traffic is appalling, streets are crowded and fumes are terrible. However, step into the Sule Shangri-La and be greeted by smiling faces, peaceful lounges and quiet comfortable... More

After a long journey to Myanmar via KL. We were tired, hot and in need of pampering. The hotel is absolutely first class. Right up their with other Shangri La hotels around the world. No better place to start and finish a trip to this magical country.

I've been staying here since 2012. Overall it has been a great experience. The staff are fantastic & you get to see the same faces month after month which means the attrition rate is non-existant. By Myanmar standards the hotel is very expensive with rooms going at average US$280.00 (inclusive of taxes) per night. The selection of food is excellent... More
