Three nights to get a glance at Yangon and enjoy chilling at the classic Governor's. Quite a treat indeed. Amazingly comfortable room & bedding, very good breakfast and excellent dinner served efficiently and warmly, spotless housekeeping, above & beyond guest care. Much appreciated daily manager greetings & chats. Really a corporate hotel? Felt more like being privileged private guests! Thank... More

We stayed in the Governors Suite ($ 375 avg/night) I think there is no bad rooms in this hotel. The room can deservingly charge $1500/night because the service is exceptional, the food is unique and delicious. The rooms are heavily furnished in teak. Everyone we spoke to who knew about this place was envious. My regret is that I wish I... More

We spent 3 nights at Governors Hotel in Yangon. This is a beautiful building with very interesting design. The hotel is as good as can be expected in this part of the world and we suspect the best available in the city. The food was disappointing.

We stayed twice at the Belmond Hotel in Yangon. Everything was perfect. The room was huge, perfect in every deatail and very big, with garden view. The breakfast was really fantastic with lots of choice and you can also ask for fresh juice and omelette. The dinner was great and you can choose between the 2 different restaurants. The restaurant... More

Anyone planning a trip to Myanmar should experience this hotel in Yangon. The hospitality is exceptional, "off the charts" one might say. From the moment of arrival through departure, you are treated like a VIP guest. People call you by name and go out of their way to make sure your needs are anticipated and met. The hotel is located... More

This is a fabulous complex built in the 1920's. It is a truly unique and magical experience, and unlike any place you have ever stayed. There are a few negatives, mostly a reflection of the larger context in which it resides. That is, slow internet (a national problem), somewhat erratic electricity (ditto), etc. However, the rooms are spacious and well... More

Really gorgeous hotel and faultless service, no complaints whatsoever. Breakfast and dinner both in the room, both we're delicious - local foods and international options (my boyfriend is burmese). All of the staff were fantastic at all times.

The Governors Residence Hotel in Yangon Myanmar is one of the best hotels we have been guests at in over 20 years of travel throughout 16 countries in Asia and Europe. The staff, amenities and dining facilities were all first class. Given that the hotel is an old restored colonial building in Yangon we were expecting that there may be... More

Our stay was simply amazing. We were impressed with the professional and friendly staff, the eagerness to make us feel at home, the superb morning breakfast service and so much more. The Myanmar government, unfortunately, makes it so that foreigners are charged a much higher price than standard prices but the hotel is doing their best to balance this out... More

We stayed at the beginning and end of a month long trip to Burma earlier this year. It's a great place to recover from jet lag - a peaceful setting away from the chaos of downtown Yangon with a lovely pool and helpful staff. Be warned - there's nothing of a remotely similar standard in Bagan, Inle or Mandalay! Ask... More
