Everything about this hotel is magical- however one thing sticks out. The Yoghurt that we had this morning, Annie's all natural yoghurt, was the best yoghurt my girlfriend and I have ever tasted. My compliments to the chef!

Location is best in Yangon, surrounding by numerous embassy houses in the area, safe and pleasurable to take a morning walk nearby, before having breakfast. The complimentary breakfast is excellent, wide choice of food (both local and international). Sitting by the poolside, having delicious and nutritious breakfast is a very enjoyable moment to start with the day, The staff are... More

Only one word to describe our experience...it's excellent. I love everything about this place. Colonial feel, friendly staff. The hotel also organize stuff like free tour to a local market and free cocktails for happy hour in the evening. However, I am sure the bell boys cooked up a scheme with the taxi driver for one of our trips which... More

We stayed at this lovely venue before and after touring more widely in the country. It had the best breakfast I have had in a hotel in many years and excellent rooms. Felt more intimate that a large chain hotel

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! Beautiful grounds, excellent service, attentive staff, well-fitted out room in a teak setting. Live in Yangon but stayed for one night during the rainy season and it was a lovely break from the floods outside. The bathroom has a lovely stone bath and great amenities. The breakfast had great variety and thoroughly enjoyed the... More

This is a lovely hotel from which to escape the hustle and bustle of Yangon. Everything was beautiful, including the staff and food. We enjoyed the pool, loved the breakfast and the service generally. The rooms are lovely (ours faced the garden), though a little dark. But we wouldn’t change anything. We went on their daily tour (travel like a... More

Lovely accommodation, friendly staff and great location.I would definitely recommend the Governors residence as a must stay at in Yangon. The walking tour through Chinatown was a highlight along with the curry night.

This hotel is quaint but luxurious in an understated way. The restaurants are amazing, the staff so lovely you want to spend time with them and the rooms are beautiful. I didn't use the pool but a lot of people did. Shower and bath both really good . I would probably ask for a room away from the back of... More

Staying at the Governor's Residence was a holiday within a holiday. We arrived looking bedraggled at 7am in a monsoon downpour after an overnight bus journey, but were allowed to check-in to our rooms immediately which was hugely appreciated, as were the large and beautiful rooms and luxurious bathrooms. Later that afternoon a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and handmade... More

Having visited over 90 countries and every continent, the history emanating from this glorious building has to be the best. Natural timbers polished to perfection, lazy ceiling fans epitomising those lazy hazy days, feasts tantalising salivary glands, enormous bedrooms and bathrooms overlooking Mr Peacock and his pea hen strutting and pecking - tranquility set in perfection. Don't find it by... More
