Wanted to stay there for long time, finally got a chance to spent one night there, it was luxury, royal and majestic. The service was superb, the rooms are clean and have a sense of royalty, Moreover the hotel was built since British occupation of Burma and night over by the Prince of Wales (then) King George of England (later)

Stayed here at the tail end of a week in Yangon. It is a lovely hotel. The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make me comfortable. Several interesting stores and a nice art gallery connect to the hotel. Enjoyed a tea leaf salad in the restaurant. Very relaxing stay.

We picked The Strand as the stand out place to stay in Yangon and we were not disappointed. The old world charm of the entrance foyer and atrium extends to the restaurant, bar and lavish rooms. Our room on the second floor was in fact a suite and was immaculately appointed. The breakfasts were ordered individually and served at the... More

Beautiful hotel with a fit out from another time. beautiful spacious rooms, amazing butler service and nothing too much trouble. Definitely the place to stay to explore the manic hustle and bustle of Yangon. Highly recommended!!!

We had the opportunity of staying here a few weeks ago. The hotel itself is outstanding with the use of polished teak. The staff was very friendly. My daughter had a birthday and they surprised us with a cake. The High Tea is definitely not to be missed. At night take a walk down to Sula Pagoda. It is a... More

We stayed here for 3 nights as our first stop in Myanmar. The room was large; however, there was quite a bit of noise from the street. The wifi was strong and was in the rooms as well as public areas. One complaint was that the shower area was quite small. However, there is also a tub. The bath towels... More

My friends were staying at the Strand and raving about it so we decided to make the switch from our existing hotel. The place is filled with history and character which gave it a nice vibe. It always nice to be told by your butler you are staying in the same room as some famous person did decades past. The... More

I usually stay in mid-range hotels, so this was a special treat for a special occasion. If you're looking at the Strand, you obviously know the history. It's a stately colonial masterpiece from a bygone era. And it lives up to the reputation. Probably the best service I've ever experienced in a hotel - warm, genuine, understated. They don't follow... Overall a nice stay but too expensive compared to what you get. Great breakfast! We wanted to finish a week's tour in Myanmar with luxury but found that other places were beyond expectations - or maybe we came here with too high expectations and got a bit disappointed. Had a spacious suite with fairly old bathroom. Some minors things to... More
