Our stay was perfect! Arrival to the hotel was warmly welcomed and felt relaxed! Everything is nicely designed and decorated. All facilities and services were very convenient for us stay. The staffs are helpful and kind. We were also recommended to eat outside in stead of eating in one place. We will go back again soon.

We stayed at The Strand in Yangon for 4 nights in July 2015. We booked the room using an online hotel booking site and got what seemed to be a deal as it included free wife and breakfast. We arrived in the afternoon and took a taxi from the airport to the hotel. It was about 9 USD for the... More

The hotel is built in 1901. Stayed for 3 nights recently and the stay was a pleasant one taking note of the unclean environment overall in Yangon. The staffs are very accommodating to your needs though the service a bit on the slower side. Rooms are cleaned twice a day with fresh towels, fruit basket and local delicacy served.Tea or... More

A truly colonial hotel in a chaotic city! The teak wood floors, the butler on every floor, the massive rooms - a lovely place to stay! Reception is lovely, you sit on comfy sofas with cold refreshing flannels and fresh juice while the reception team sort out everything for you, no standing and no queueing! We had a twin room,... 1) Hotel has some old world charm but is in major need of a renovation. Very old and tired, significantly inferior to Raffles Phnom Phen. Falls below its designated 5 star rating. I would give it 3.5 stars by international standards. 2) BELL BOYS are dishonest. Always marking up price of taxi rides and taking a cut. Hugely disappointing. 3)... More

The Brits used to love this place for meeting, business and meals; it maintains the charm and the wooden scent of colonial times. The French chef can make a mouthwatering local fish soup. The bar is still an expats highlight for mingling and enjoy cold-refreshing draft beers!

This grand and classy colonial style hotel brought me back in time. It was well up-kept and its timeless charm was well preserved - the chandeliers, the ancient brass and wood based furniture, the marble flooring and its very gentle staff etc.. My suite room was spacious, comfortable and functional. Service was personalized and my butlers were on attendance round... More

I had a wonderful experience at this gorgeous hotel and this started even before I arrived. I sent a request on my check in day to the hotel to help arrange airport pick up service. Despite being so last minute and sending via email, the hotel staff was really responsive and they lined up a recommended driver who waited for... More

This hotel has so much history and the beautiful bar is spectacular. Room service for breakfast starts at 0400 so you can have an excellent full breakfast before departing on an early flight for other tours in the country. Butler service is excellent. Showers a little small but this is an old remodeled hotel so that was to be expected.... More

The Strand is a beautiful old colonial masterpiece locked in time. The rooms are huge, comfortable and kitted out with all the amenities required. The WiFi is good, the ambience excellent and a butler on each floor is a nice touch. The staff are fantastic. Breakfast was excellent (worth getting a rate that includes it within the package) and was... More
