Two good things about Okinawa guest house, the best location, very close to Sule Pagoda and the friendly & helpful staff. However, $38 per night for a guest house is quite expensive, dark room, no hot-shower, noisy till midnight. Especially, be careful with the mosquitoes!

the staffs are fine! helpful but speak very little English. hotel is a heaven for mosquito. room was very dark, no free water and they charge 400 kyat/bottle, no light in the bathroom, the bathroom floor always wet and slippery. we told the same to the staffs but they simply smiled as they already knew the fact but could not... Okinawa guest house is not my most favourite place in Yangon and I am not one for complaining BUT... There are literally cockroaches everywhere! The bed smelt so revolting that I placed out clean clothes on top before I lay to sleep. It was incredible noisy - until midnight and from 4am onwards. The hostel/guest house is run by adolescent... In comparison with other guesthouses in Yangon, I found this one cosy and clean. Shared showers were ok, I stayed in a dorm with 4 beds (just matrasses on the floor) but they have musquito -nets. I liked the interior: with a lot of wood, cosy, house-ish. And best of all, you eat breakfast outside, chat with others, 'on the... More

I hate making suck bold statements but I am comfortable for this to be true. They simply do not care about you, I may as well have a number of my forehead. Asking for anything seems to be a chore for them. Unless you actually make a scene about something nothing gets done. They are unaware or unwilling to give... More

Yes it´s not super clean but it´s more than acceptable. The place has some charm, and you can coose between dorm or a separate room. No hot shower though. Sleep quality is average but hey it´s a backpackers place. The staff is really friendly and you get a free decent breakfast. The location is perfect and it´s ideal if you... More

Me and my friend got a nice double room for 40$, which is nice for Yangon I guess. Still, blood smears on the bed sheets on my friends side and a pretty intense smell of sweat on mine made it a mediocre experience. The location is pretty much in the centre of downtown though and the staff seems nice.So maybe... More

I stayed in 2 nights in 4 beds dorm room for 10$ a night. Myanmar accomodation is expensive, but Yangon's one is the most. Okinawa guest house would be the perfect choice if you are only looking for cost-effective and cheap(and also clean). Plus, location is really good and air-conditioner is working well. I would give 4 stars when it... More

Yes, Yangon is expensive, but 32$ a night for a room next to the reception where you get awoken at 5am is too expensive. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was great, but with so many other guest houses nearby you might check around. Clean room and bathroom eventhough it smelled a bit weird. The room has mosquitonet which... More
