I spent 3 nights in total at Tokyo Guesthouse, 2 on the way in and 1 on the way back. There was a slight change of plan one the way back as my friend who was travelling with me didn't come back at the same time and although I'd booked a double room the owner was kind enough to move... More

The owner and the staff are nice. They provides good information for the city and transport. Japanese breakfast is included, very good. We spend 3 night there and it was nice, wifi is difficult but it's the same in the internet cafe near the place. It's not far from paya sule and all the bus.

First night here had a shared bed by myself, is good a cosy with air condition, slept the whole night as I had bad night the night before. Changed to a single room with fan and it was so comfortable as well especially with the winter weather right now. Nothing fancy about the guest house, command bath room and toilet,... More

while this guest house s in a good location, the "rooms" are really tiny and way overpriced. The good thing about this place is the breakfast, which is different than the ones you'll get around Burma. If you cant get any other place, this is OK, but you could get more for your money.

Accommodation in Yangon is hard to come by for independent travellers on a budget and for that reason alone I would recommend this guest house. The guest house is up some very dodgy grimy looking stairs and the rooms are tiny and without windows - they reminded us of a small cabin on a ship. Our room was clean though,... More

We stayed there for three nights total. The first two were just after we arrived in Yangon, we didn't spend much time there, it was a little dark inside and a little cramped, but it was a great place. It was a lot cheaper than the other places we checked out. Even the view from the toilet window was beautiful.... More

It's located up dirty dark concrete stairs. The place is cramped and feels like a left over set from the film Blade Runner. The rooms are tiny with makeshift doors and a cheap padlock to lock them. The shared bathroom is also shared with unwashed pots and pans and a generous sprinkling of ants. The price for a double room... More

We stayed here for one night before flying out. The place is fine and clean, but the rooms are tiny. Basically 2 beds and 2 backpacks filled up the room. No windows, shared shower (no hot water when we were under it) and toilets And this all for 24 dollars. We had a much better deal on the hotel we... More

I found Yangon amazingly underdeveloped in terms of accommodations. I tried three in total and found the Tokyo one was the best, as it had a bit of a backpacker vibe, while the other were more like cheap hotels. Locationwise it is a little bit of the map. Yes it is right next to the Sule Pagoda but this is... More
