Making a booking for a hotel in Rangoon could be tough these days. Anyway, we wanted to assure a nice sleep and stay in downtown. Accordingly with our expectations, we selected a 3 stars hotel for a high price. (same as in some European Capitals) As we arrived surprises did not stop: -as we made individual check ins, they assign... More

A decent hotel which I booked through Agoda at USD 60.00 for two persons per including decent breakfast. The room on the 7th floor was clean which we stayed for 3 nights. We stayed for another one night on the 8th floor after visiting Mandalay and Bagan. The room on the 8th floor was bigger and clean. The staff was... More

Your typical room for the Southeast Asia travelers out there. The location was good and it had free wifi along with satellite TV. A fire-breathing demon in the fridge screamed "Zuul" at me when I opened it, so I never used it. The shower towels had some washed out stains on them but I just found the clean parts, and... More

Thank you for your comments and I'm glad your stay at our hotel was mostly enjoyable. I apologize for the confusion at the front desk. Our hotel came under new management in February and hopefully our staff is better trained now and we can address situations such as yours much better now. More

We stayed as part of a group doing charity work, at the start of our journey around Myanmar and again at the end. This was the worst hotel of the trip, because: - the front desk claimed that we had no booking and put us in an awful internal room with no windows, upon complaint they found a barely tolerable... We are very sorry about your experience in December. Please know that the hotel is under new management now. We have a new reservation system in place that should prevent the booking issue that your group experienced in the future. If you find yourself back in Yangon, please give us an opportunity to make up for your bad experience. More

Hotel prices are said to have skyrocketed with the impending easing of international sanctions and big increase in foreign tourists. I believe it after searching for Yangon hotels. The room was overpriced by outside standards, but still the most reasonable that I could find on short notice. I ended up with a suite on the 10th floor. Fine view of... More

The rooms are index wonderful with a rare sight on Yangoon River, but the room and bathroom were dirty, although I asked them to clean it again. During the second night we discovered a rat in our room, which ate bits of the underwear. Service took 45 minutes to come. No excuse, no recompensation. Breakfast buffet was dirty as well... More

We disgustedly left another Hotel who was ripping us $95/nite for a tiny crap room and a local guy took us to the New Aye Yar. After our earlier experience we were overjoyed to get a room 3 x bigger, half the price ($45/nite) and with WiFi in the room. The place is old and tired so don't expect gleaming... More
