Good communication via email when we reserved a room. They provided airport pick-up, which was good because their area was a bit far from the airport. The hostel was in downtown area of the city, along a main road so hailing a cab was no problem. The room we had only has a ceiling fan and big windows, no A/C,... More

Why this is the top choice in Lonely Planet's 'Southeast Asia on a Shoestring' I have no idea... Particularly because it's not at all fit for a shoestring budget! At $35/night for a double room with air conditioning, it's more than double the price of other places we've stayed on this trip of equal or superior quality. Myanmar is clearly... More

Leading up to our trip we had read many critical reviews regarding the standard of hotels in Yangon, and Myanmar generally so our expectations weren't super high. With this in mind, we were pretty happy with the room at Mother Land 2. Our room was a clean, reasonably sized, with a/c that worked quite well. The bed was very firm,... More

We booked the hostel by internet without any problems and they offered us two rooms to choose - both quite spacious, clean and with aircon and tv. The price in October 2013 for double room was 30 $ which was ok for the convienient location and helpful staff (and in comparison to high hotel prices in Rangoon!) - we walked... More

Unfortunately it looks like that there former success has changed their custom services. When I checked inn the rooms where very overpriced; although in low season and almost all empty there was no cheaper room than 35$ (what is too much anywhere in Myanmar). First seeing the room, than checked in and than the terrible destruction noise started. After a... More

Yangon will probably be your fist destination when visiting Burma and the Mother Land inn will be great place for your first days in this wonderful country. Yes, it is the top pick of the LP and therefore always busy, but the staff are very friendly and can help you with anything from laundry, bicycle rent to booking bus tickets... More

We stayed here last week, room was clean, aircon good, beds a little tired but not uncomfortable. Work was going on upstairs for a new rooms, but this did not effect us. its was a pleasant guest house - great breakfast (order the local Burmese noodle and curry) - fantastic. We changed money here at a reasonable rate once we... More

Definitely a guest house and not a hotel, as most places are in Burma. Nice clean room, with aircon and consistent electricity. The guy who picked us up (free of charge) from the airport was very friendly, as were all the staff. Not amazing value for money, but most places weren't. Breakfast was good and would recommend to stay here... More
