The lovely staff here made my stay most pleasant. They were incredibly friendly and helpful to me when I asked for assistance when making further travel enquiries and arrangements - flights and B&B reservations. This is something of great importance I feel in a country like Myanmar, where tourist numbers hit 1million for the first time only in 2013. With... More

The Motherland 2 is on the edge of Central Rangoon and in a slightly ramshackle / shanty area but it's reasonably priced (for Rangoon, a city with expensive hotels), the breakfasts are great and the staff friendly and very helpful with planning and arranging the next step of your visit to Burma. When we were there, the internet connection on... More

As far as clean and basic, its fine. Understanding this is a underdeveloped country, the rooms were fine (just a bit pricey for what you get). What was very disappointing was the service. Yes they were nice, but you honestly were just another "backpacker"...the place is FILLED with backpackers. Perhaps we were spoiled as ALL of the other places we... More

Agree completely with Cieliafrog (as these guys dont care anymore)-DISLIKE THIS PLACE-Guys, times are changing in myanmar-internet (which is very common almost everywhere) is a must when travelling as we know-the wifi was horrific for my stay just recently here. The neighbhour hood is in a poor area which is fine but just to be mindful. Comparing it to the... More

Basic rooms, not really clean but okay. Attached bathroom was clean enough for my taste. It's a bit away from any sights, but I loved walking to the sights through less touristic places, it gives you a feel of the real Yangon, and for anyone who finds no pleasure in walking half an hour or with generally less time in... Breakfast was decent albeit very oily (like everything in Myanmar). The dorm was spacious but had no aircon and had loud ladies outside the window very early in the morning. The staff was very friendly (and pretty). The internet was unbareably slow but they didn't charge me to use it. Location is kind of.far from downtown Yangon but the walk... More

The problem with lonely planet recommended places is that they often become pretty bad due to their success. Staff was rude, food was inedible, room was dirty, wifi was not working... The room was 30 USD, so cheap enough, but not a good experience.

We chose the place because of its location and the free airport shuttle. The staff was super helpful. We arrived at 5:30am and could not get straight into the room. They offered us a great breakfast and did not make us wait too long for the room. The room itself, well for the money we paid .. it was very... More

Staffs are helpful and friendly. We paid USD30 per night for a twin bed room with air-cond for 2 persons. Included breakfast and airport transfer. Located at a quite place and you can sleep tight. However most of the local people cannot communicate in english. Luckily we met a taxi driver who worked before in Malaysia and able to speak... More

I read some good review about this hotel on some blog post, so i reserved 3 night before my departure to myanmar. Im not regret it. Location a bit off center, you need to hire a... More
