This hotel may once of bee a 5* hotel but that was a very long time ago! I know this is Africa but you don't expect cockroaches in your room on the 14th floor in a supposed 5* hotel. The furniture in the room was very old and tied and there was a musty smell everywhere. No tea or coffee... More

I stayed for two nights. It's expensive just like anything else in Kinshasa, but you can negotiate the price with the reception (This is Africa). The breakfast was fine, the room was excellent. I didn't have any real problems except for two lizards who fell just in front of me when I was looking for a taxi at the entrance.... More

This was my first stay in Kinshasa so I cannot compare this property with others in the city. The rooms are dated but comfortable and they are kept spotlessly clean.Pillows are very hard. Pressure in shower was good but I was only on fifth floor. There is an decent sized gym but only two of the treadmills are of the... More

The rooms are quite big, beds very soft but pillows quite hard. Reasonably clean rooms (only one small cockroach encountered) but no hot water in the mornings. Very noisy air-conditioning in the rooms but wireless Internet connection was pretty good for Kinshasa as was the food -breakfasts and dinners in the main dining room and great wood-oven pizza from the... Friendly staff, acceptable food and clean. Very dated - looks as though nothing has been updated since the 70's. That includes the a/c, which does not work well. They are building a new annex, so it may improve.

I've been going to the gym here for a few months and I love it. The monthly membership gets you access to all the amenities and the staff begins to treat you like family over time. The coaches are always willing to help you out and the ambiance is good. Getting into the sauna often is also a great thing.... More

Since I am based in Kinshasa and rent an apartment in town, I use the gym at the hotel several times pr. week. They gym is well equipped with plenty of free weights, cardio-vascular machines, bikes, rowing machine, pool & pool beds, tennis and squash court. It can get very busy certain times of the day, the room is a... More

This hotel shows that it was once a very nice place in the 70's. Unfortunately it has not seen that level since then. The facilities (both common areas and the rooms) are in a state of deterioration. There seems to be no effort to reverse this trend, from what I could see. The food at the breakfast buffet and what... More

I stayed at the Grand in Kinshasa a couple of times in the late 90es - not much changed since then, although the rooms where in need of refurbishement already at that time. However, at that time there was not much competition as compared to now... Much overpriced for the condition of the rooms. Restaurants also not really recommended. Only... More

They are building a new hotel next door. In the meantime, this hotel is going to seed. Rooms in poor shape, reeking of mildew. Towels dirty. No coffee or tea in room, and no room service overnight. Internet is crepuscular. Pool and fitness center accessible by leaving the hotel and going through the construction site for the new hotel, dodging... More
