A good place to stay - only 5 -10 mins walk into town in the evening to go to restaurants. The night club next door closed the night before we arrived and is not going to reopen so was quiet at night. During the day there was building work happening next door so it was noisy during the day in... More

The Moorings hotel has a great location, only a short walk to town, and located on the harbour. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the only problem is that the previous Australian owner ran the place down, and there are many problems including a sub par kitchen etc I think a previous review said that the hotel was tired,... Like most things in Vanuatu - when you go cheap. You GET cheap. The Hotel itself wasn't bad. BUT we were placed in a room with no TV (when there seemed to be plenty empty) and the night we stayed they had an event for some happy clappy religious group, and all we got compensation for the noise and carry... I have travelled all around the world, and I have to say that the Moorings was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. First of all, when we arrived, they had no booking for us in their system, even though I booked with booking.com months before and had received a confirmation. I produced my printed confirmation, and they admitted... More

I stayed here with my husband in March 2014, and found that this place has some pros and cons worth mentioning. Pros: Very convenient location, easy to get to and from the airport and the town centre. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to shift to a different motel due to Moorings being overbooked, so they provided... More

At first I saw the pictures on the inernet and started to think what a beautiful place! 99$aud a night for this? ok I'm in! And I booked my room online. They charged my credit card a month before I arrive! The entire 99$! i contacted them by email and they told me it is normal, so I contacted the... More

Having stayed here four years ago, we returned but to find it not up to the previous standard. Our room was quite a nice one near the waterfront but had a few maintenance issues like a continually flushing toilet. Having said that, when we told management that our television didn't work, they tried to fix it and then offered to... More

Maybe it was because it was a Friday but the music, which started at 5.00pm at the restaurant and continued in the neighbouring nightclub till 4.00 am was too much, we cancelled our next night. The room was OK and clean and comfortable but the music made for the worst hotel night we had ever experienced.

Stayed here for the first two nights of our Vanuatu holiday and wasn't impressed. Our room was small, dark and claustrophobic. The windows were tiny and had heavy shutters. The place was very quiet during our stay, and there seemed to be more staff than guests. Thankfully didn't experience any noise from the night club. Food was very basic and... More

The Moorings is not shiny and 'schmick' but it is comfortable and reasonably priced. Our room was clean, with a bathroom, tea and coffee, TV, air conditioning and a small bar fridge. Free wifi was a bonus but it did drop in and out a bit. Our room opened onto pool area which was lovely and the hotel is on... More
