We didn't stay on this Island, we just took a day trip over by boat. The boat leaves from the domestic whalf in Nuku'alofa and takes about 10 minutes. Return trip was Tongan Pa'anga $20 per person. This is a small islands, you can walk around it a low tide in about 20 minutes. Ex-pats we talked to say it's... More

Big Mamas Boat House serves great fish and chips and the snacks and drinks are a great way to spend a lazy Sunday when everything is closed on the island. Water is beautiful and the 10 minute walk around the island will find you a bathing spot with no one else around, as well as one side of the island... More

Didn't stay on the island, but did the day trip on the Sunday when nearly everything is closed in Nuku'Alofa. Easy to access with a 15 minute boat ride - good snorkeling and swimming, nice beach and tasty lunch at Big Mamas. Recommended!

We didn't stay here but visited the island twice. The first time we caught the ferry across. The island is great. The swimming is good and the snorkelling around the shipwreck is decent with many fish. The restaurant is good but there are many cats and dogs wanting your food. The second time we visiting we rented a kayak from... More

A visit to Pangaimotu is the perfect way to spend Sunday, when everything in Nuku'alofa shuts down. I booked the tour on Saturday which includes the 15 minute ferry ride from Nuku'alofa plus a $20 food voucher. The entire little island takes just 30 minutes to walk around, so it is easy to get away from other people. It is... More

I had a great time on Pangaimotu Island, we decided in a minute that we would go there and it was the best decision ever made. Big Mama's family is really nice, friendly and want to make a great time for you. We stayed there for 3 nights and had the whole island for ourselfs during the evening. The burgers... More

This island certainly is a little treasure. We visited during the week and there was only a handful of people on the island giving it a real desert island feel. The teenagers got their kicks jumping from the wreck, snorkeling, playing on the rope swing and husking coconuts whilst the adults had a relaxing time on the decked area. The... More

Handy to nukualofa.lovely beach to swim at and good quality burgers and fish and chips. Staff are delightful laid back Tongans who are quiet and respecful. it is run by a family that survive on income from Sundays so please purchase drinks and food from them and do not take your own. Snorkelling along the beach out from the white... More

This island is amazing and a fun day for you and the kids to spend on a Sunday afternoon. The shipwreck is a real attraction for the kids to jump off and the fishes underneath. The food was a little expensive but delicious. The place does need a little renovation so I wouldn't want to stay overnight but during the... More
