A visit to Pangaimotu is the perfect way to spend Sunday, when everything in Nuku'alofa shuts down. I booked the tour on Saturday which includes the 15 minute ferry ride from Nuku'alofa plus a $20 food voucher. The entire little island takes just 30 minutes to walk around, so it is easy to get away from other people. It is... More

I had a great time on Pangaimotu Island, we decided in a minute that we would go there and it was the best decision ever made. Big Mama's family is really nice, friendly and want to make a great time for you. We stayed there for 3 nights and had the whole island for ourselfs during the evening. The burgers... More

This island certainly is a little treasure. We visited during the week and there was only a handful of people on the island giving it a real desert island feel. The teenagers got their kicks jumping from the wreck, snorkeling, playing on the rope swing and husking coconuts whilst the adults had a relaxing time on the decked area. The... More

Staying in Tonga for a few months with work we visited Pangaimotu a few times on sundays. The island is busy on sundays and has a good atmosphere with families and locals as well as tourists It a good way to spend the day away from the town and if the weather is nice, good swimming & some worthwhile snorkelling around... Handy to nukualofa.lovely beach to swim at and good quality burgers and fish and chips. Staff are delightful laid back Tongans who are quiet and respecful. it is run by a family that survive on income from Sundays so please purchase drinks and food from them and do not take your own. Snorkelling along the beach out from the white... More

This island is amazing and a fun day for you and the kids to spend on a Sunday afternoon. The shipwreck is a real attraction for the kids to jump off and the fishes underneath. The food was a little expensive but delicious. The place does need a little renovation so I wouldn't want to stay overnight but during the... More

Having read the other reviews on here about Pangaimotu being a good place for a day trip and that Sundays were quite busy, we decided to head over for the day on Saturday. We had a fantastic and relaxing time there and had about half the island to ourselves for most of the day. The fish and chips at the... More

Pangaimotu is worth the visit, hands down. While only a short boatride from the main island, it's long enough to feel like you're getting away to an outer island. The chicken burger meal is delish, the Ikale Tahi cold, the hammocks and sun loungers aplenty, the coconut trees hang low and the ocean clear and welcoming. Quite a fun trip... More

Been a while since I was there, great memories of super clear water watching the fish swim around me. Being near a shipwreck makes it a different experience. As many others have said we popped over here on a Sunday to get a beer, considered staying but had accommodation already on the mainland, would stay next time
