You can't get much better than this in Honiara. It's near shopping. It's a beautiful hotel with good food and a great pool. The rooms and views are beautiful. The only downside is that being a hotel on the beach, you would never really want to swim there - it's right next to the harbor and the water is full... More

Stayed here for a week with a large group of 10 whilst doing a Battlefield Study tour in the nearby area. Hotel staff were very professional and efficient and the meals at the hotel restaurants were good. The hotel itself is a bit simple and tired, but remembering the location that you're in and when you see the rest of... More

We stayed at the Mendana with Military Historical Tours and had a very good experience on our tour and at this hotel BECAUSE we upgraded to the "East Wing". Huge difference! We advise that if you are traveling that far (and for us probably our only trip to Guadalcanal) you spend the extra money and have a significantly nicer room.... More

A hotel that charges as much as it does should have wifi in all rooms not just a few. Also internet charge is well over the top. Very noisy both night and early morning, plus brown water from taps due to work being done I think. Japanese restaurant saves it a star and their bar. Breakfast very poor, go to... More

Problems included TV did not work, water worked intermittently, lots of critters, bed was on wheels, neighborhood security, internet charges, lack of baggage service and staff responsiveness. The positives include the restaurant and entertainment.

Summary: - No baggage service - carry your own bags - Noisy rooms - Generally very good food in the restaurants - Very very sloooowwwww disorganized service in both restaurants - Friendly staff - Outrageous internet charges - bring a wireless modem with you, walk 200m east from the hotel and buy a prepaid data sim at bmobile which will... Really nice hotel for the place. Room was spacious, cool, well appointed, nice view. Food and beverage in bar and restaurant fine. Okay, it was Friday night with live music out by the pool which got progressively louder, added attraction was karaoke during band time outs, in fairness it did stop at 10pm and it was Friday night. However than... More

I like the house front & Restaurant is very good but expensive. Rooms are very poorly maintained. Be aware of brownish hot water. Though I had a confirmed booking I had to wait until 3pm to check Inn.

Clean room, bay view, good service but don't even think of using the internet....at US$2/min! A friend didn't realize an connected to check mail --- disconnected when she learned and had a $65 bill! Nice location, meals with uneven service but food OK.

After reading TripAdvisor reviews and on the recommendation of our travel agent we chose to stay in a sea view east room at this hotel. It is located in the city right next to the dive shop, craft centre, the stunning Breakwater cafe and close to the central market. Our room was very modern, clean and well appointed with a... More
