Stayed here for 10 days for work and it was fine. The Japanese restaurant was very good and did a great bento box with good sashimi. Centrally located between the two best cafes in town (breakwater and lime lounge). Can get noisy if you are in a room at the yacht club end on weekends (real bad cover bands playing... More

Stayed in the executive rooms for 2 weeks they are a far better option then the other rooms though rather expensive. Staff are as always helpful, the Captain restaurant food is still not up to standard for the cost of meals

The renovated Rooms in the East Wing - sea view are quite nice. Much nicer than the other sea view rooms - however because the staff always leave the door open when they are servicing the rooms - you will always have mozzies in your room. If you can afford the executive rooms they have the best view and are... More

The staff are very helpful, always polite. Breakfast is good and staff are always attentive. I stayed on the west side next to the breakwater cafe for 1st 6 weeks, the poo truck comes most evening to extract waste from the cafe. Smell occasionally waffles to some of the rooms. The rooms are old and the bed slides on the... More

Stayed at the hotel on the suggestion of my boss, overall I had a comfortable stay at the Solomon Kitano Mendana hotel but I have stayed in better in Honiara. I stayed on "West Wing" witht the Garden View/parking lot. The rooms were big however the bed linen and blankets needed to be changed (i.e.) new ones. I saw cockroaches... More

Staying for work at the Solomons Kitano for eight nights. I'm in the east wing, and while I have Internet, the 7-day package is SBD $900 / US $120. It's 10PM on a Sunday night and the dance music from the club next door is vibrating things in the room. The smell of mildew and bug spray in the room... More

A one night stay between flights. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Well presented hotel. The highlight was the Wednesday night seafood buffet. Good hotel services. Effort to present well. Will stay again on return.

This is my 7th or 8th time at the Mendana! It is gradually getter better. Rooms, in the "East Wing" at the sea side, where I stayed this time, are quite large and well set up. The internet was very good for the first time, no drop outs and whilst not fast, was enough to use for business purposes. Just... More

As the title of this review reads, we were very pleased with our stay at the Kitano Mendana. We had stayed at the King Solomon before and agreed that the Mendana is really much better in most respects. Important though: make sure you stay in the eastern, newly renovated wing which is WAY nicer than the old west wing. The... More

Stayed here with some buddies while diving local wrecks. The place is really good, the staff were always friendly and helpful. Fully recommend it; but, be prepared for rooms that aren't up to the expectation level set by the entrance. We were pre-warned we were getting the worst rooms in one of the better hotels and that was quite accurate.... More
