Great place to stay and good value for money. Thursday night is a all you can eat dinner. There is also a show with locals dancing. It pays to book unless you want to eat early. Rooms could do with an update. We had a very loud airconditior but got moved to another room and it was no problem at... More

Tried to find fault with the hotel in a constructive way, but all I could criticize was the lack of a tour desk & no airport shuttle. Everything else is great, the cable car to the rooms instead of an elevator, very good reasonably priced restaurant, good breakfast, great reception staff, clean room & bathroom, aircon worked well & plenty... Once again I had another great stay at the King Sol. The rooms are large and airy, the staff friendly and genuinely helpful and the Australian owners Sue and Shane Kennedy do everything possible to make your stay as enjoyable as possible within the constraints of a third world country. The hotel has a fabulous air con Bamboo Bar/coffee shop... More

During 2012 I was working for Solomon Airlines and flew to honiara on several occassions. The first time I stayed at the King Solomon. The room was clean, very large, nice view over the sound. The only complaint was I didnt appreciate the local gay boy banging on my door at 3am to check out the new talent.

Having stayed at the King Solomon Hotel at least 5 times l feel compelled to let others know what a hidden gem it is.Apart from the best Wood fired pizzas l have ever tasted. The "Bamboo Cafe" the hotels coffee shop has to be the best place for coffee and breakfast which is validated by it's patronage (it is always packed).Shane... We stay at the King Solomon a couple of years ago. The first room they put us in had a hole in the ceiling and what looked to be water damage. We asked for a different room and everything was fine. The a/c works great, the locations was great, helpful staff, and nice common areas. I'll post pix later, but... More

Unfortunately not only are the flights to the Solomon Islands expensive, so is the accommodation. There is the top end accommodation in Honiara (Heritage Park) that is ridiculously priced and everything else. King Solomon is the best of the remainder of hotels in Honiara. Rooms are basic but clean, satellite TV works most of the time and staff are generally... More

Given the not so vast choice and excruciating prices in Honiara, I had my doubts about this place, however it turned out to be top choice and certainly better option than the Kitano, and maybe even the Heritage. Here's what makes the King Sol so special: 1) Location- perfectly located at a short, safe walk from the main street. Felt... More

We were here for an overnight awaiting a flight the following day. The grounds of the hotel are very nice. Set upon a hill, multiple levels of rooms are accessed via a small tram or stairs. The hotel room itself was plain, white walls, tiled floors, only one towel (for two people?), and basic accommodations for the bathroom. The room... More
