The Kitano hotel is much nicer than King Solomon, but the King Solomon is nice too. There are a lot of locals and military coming in and out of the bar, which made me feel a bit awkward as a tourist (as I'm not in those categories). The rooms were very basic, accessed by a cable car that seems like... More

First, the location is great, right in the center of town but off the main road so very quiet. The lobby is quaintly touristy with carvings and baskets. The pool, behind and above, looks handmade with rocks and plantings and a shady area to get out of the sun. There's also a small gym. The restaurant serves a good breakfast... More

Motel-style room with basic appointments, ditto for bathroom. Air-conditioned. Two-star standard. Room clean enough, not immaculate. Spacious. Quiet the night I was there (midweek). Hotel tends to cater to expat tradespeople and professionals, working short-term in Honiara. Hardly an inviting traveller vibe. Staff polite enough, wouldn't say they go out of their way to assist you. The pool area looks... More

This has to one of the best options in the hotel. The unit is spacious and well appointed. Everything worked well and we heard nothing from the nightclub. Take some earplugs to get over air conditioning noise. The unit has cooking facilities so you can shop at the market and save yourself money. The kitchen staff were happy to fillet... More

Hotels in Honiara are expensive and this is one of the better priced ones. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean with satellite TV, a fan and a properly working aircon as well as an okay bathroom with mostly reliable hot water. The hotel is quite quirky with great gardens, cool wood carvings, a nice pool area and the cable... More

I've stayed at the King Solomons Hotel a number of times and of all the hotels in and around Honiara CBD I think it represents the best value for money. The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is reasonable but not great, the rooms are big but at times a little under maintained and the décor is mid- 70's... More

Rooms are too old & very poor maintenance. Hotel concept & wood work is breathtaking. Value for money I will rate 4 out of 10. Friendly staff & poor service. I guess you have to expect it any where in this city.

Stayed at King Solomons Hotel to sample the local experiences of Honiara. Staff were very helpful, and it wasn't a problem changing rooms to get a balcony. Atmosphere was wonderful and food was good for the Solomons. Finicular railway up to the rooms was a treat.

Stayed in this hotel for a week recently. The room had everything we needed and was clean. We had a few ants once but I left candy on the counter unwrapped in the South Pacific it's my own fault. The air conditioners worked great. We don't really have any complaints about this hotel. It is very central to the part... More

Our stay here was OK - but if I'd ever visit Honiara again I would probably choose a different hotel. Pros: - Room was very spacious and clean - The cable car going up to the rooms is a nice novelty at first, will be especially fun for kids - Pizzas in the restaurant are cooked in a wood oven...
