We searched high and low to find a clean and comfortable place to stay in Honiara. At last we found the Sanalae (The options: the HP is OK but extremely pricey and the KM is old with a handful of nice but expensive rooms. The rest of the hotels look and smell like pet hotels) The price is very reasonable,... More

Initially I stayed at Pacific Casino which I absolutely hated. Then I read about Sanalae on tripadvisor and checked it out. It is really comfortable, safe, clean with welcoming staff. I was able to buy food items from the nearby market and prepare dinner and breakfast in the room. high recommend it.

I spent 2 weeks at Sanalae Apartments whilst working in Honiara recently, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it wholeheartedly. The apartments are nicely furnished, well equipped and spotlessly clean (thank you, Gillian and Jennifer!). Although the only views are from the upstairs apartments (most let on a long-term basis), a pleasing courtyard effect has been achieved outside the downstairs apartments,... More

I travel every 2 weeks for business and I found accommodation in Honiara is very expensive, compared to what we would pay in Australia. Sanalae offer great value on a number of fronts. For a family of 5, we booked an upstairs unit and a downstairs unit for our week stay. The upstairs unit offers heaps of room for the... More

We stayed in the Garden Apartments and were very happy with all aspects of our stay. The room was neat and clean. The fully equipped kitchenette provided options in Honiara. The staff were helpful and friendly. It was a short walk (downhill) to catch local buses into town. Air conditioning was a bonus. Car hire also. We boiled water to... More

Hotels and accommodation in Honiara are generally quite expensive. Sanalae offer a great alternative, particularly if you've like to have a small amount of kitchen equipment to cook some meals for yourself. We stayed 4 nights. The rooms are spacious enough, and clean. Airconditiong and other facilities are in good working order. The staff are pleasant and helpful enough. The... More

We (couple) stay long term (since October 2010) in one of the four upstairs studio apartments. This is spacious with full kitchen needs, comfortable queen bed, bath with overhead shower, hot water, plenty of storage (kitchen and personal effects) and airconditioned. The apartment is kept immaculate with full service and the tropical gardens are regularly maintained. Our manager Doreen is... More

We went to Honiara for a wedding, I booked 3 rooms for a total of 21 nights. A great place to cool off in the air conditioning from the high temp and Humidity outside. Rooms clean and compact. Kitchen small but adequate, limited storage for food. Hot water only in shower. Water in taps not suitable for drinking, used bottled... More

We spent a little over a week here in one of the ground floor apartments. We thought it a great little place. The room was comfortable with a queen and a single bed. It is air-conditioned which is essential as there aren't that many windows. The kitchenette has all you need to self cater. Not much of a view from... More

We really enjoyed our stay here (7 nights). The staff were always attentive and would do anything to help. The room was spacious and clean, the bed and pillows very comfy! The only downside for us was it's location. A little bit out of the way and so we preferred to get taxis to and from the apartments when it... More
