10 minutes to Blue Corner!(pic) depending on the tides. Are you kidding me? Anything that close to The Spot (a little overtouched) is a winner right out of the gates. Carp Island is an eco lodge that provides its guests with what they can grow or raise, chicken, pork, limited vegetables, papayas and of course daily fresh fish. (There aren't... more

We had planned to stay 3 nights but left after 1 night. The rooms on the beach were spartan - bathroom outside of door on the porch and showers awful; 2 wooden double beds with bedspreads for sheet and covers, light bulbs hanging from ceiling, no reading lights, no carpets, and only a ceiling fan. Total Cost per night is... more

Positives: Great friendly, front desk staff. Close to many dive sites (German Channel, Blue Corner, Blue Hole, Big drop off, New drop off, etc.). Not too expensive ($143 inc. tax for a seaside cottage + extra $41 for meals = $20 dinner, $12 lunch, $9 breakfast). Nice, homecooked, All-you-can-eat meals. Great ice tea! Nice windy breeze if you sit in... more

I can't begin to explain my stay at the Carp Island Resort. It was extraordinary. It's prestine beach and nearby divesites are what makes this such a unique place. The staff was very friendly and the time I got to spend there was quite memorable and I am planning to come again next summer. more

Second time at Carp Island, and I can not remember a better place to stay and dive in over 20 years of traveling. The staff at the hotel as well as on the dive boats were extremely friendly and accommodating. The are always the 1st dive boat to arrive at the Blue corner, before all the other dive boats come... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at Carp Island for 3 days/2 nights. Our dive guide was great, but the dive operation is not as good as Sams on Palau. Carp Island is closer to the majority of the dive sites which means less travel time, but I didn't mind the stunning daily 45 minute boatrides through the rock islands from... more

Returned from a 2-week vacation in Palau where we had a wonderful time diving, snorkeling, fishing, hiking and kayaking on Carp Island. We were able to balance all that activity with some rest and relaxation on this peaceful island. We really appreciated the Eco-friendly mentality of the Carp Island Resort owners which is much needed in this part of the... more

I went to Palau for a 10 day vacation with friends, not knowing what to expect. The stay on the resort turned into one of my most memorable experiences! The weather was gorgeous, saw incredible sunsets and sunrises, went kayaking, fishing, snorkeling and learned to scuba dive. The staff at Carp Island Resort are friendly, giving and accomodating. Meals were... more

Forget Carp Island. Stay on Koror or if you want to be closer to the dive sites, stay on Peleliu at Storyboard Beach Resort or on a liveaboard. Carp Island is overrated, overly commercial, immpersonal and completely oriented towards catering to Japanese divers with 2,000+ logged dives. In fact, if you are not Japanese, expect to be mostly ignored. They... more
