As you have read before New Caledonia is Expensive!! Don't think i've been anywhere that charges $NZ13 for an icecream. The hotel was good value for money, but saying that we did book on the 2 For 1 deal. The rooms were clean and the maids made a good job every day. The garden view has to be taken with... more

I just stayed at this hotel and agrre with the many negative comments on this web page. I don`t need to repeat the bad shape & quality of service, it is unfortunately true. I rather would blame to management which must run with closed eyes around or even is not existing anymore. Yes N.C. is an expensive place, but after... more

OK Let's get this straight. Noumea is not a cheap destination, particularly when compared to other Pacific destinations. However if you are used to paying central Sydney prices then it is not that expensive either. Having got that out of the way Le Surf is good value for money. Yes the room decor is dated and the first room we... more

You can see why Le Surf used to have a higher rating. Location is ideal - perfect in fact. We found it better than we expected after reading so my bad reviews. Had garden view which was nice too as Island has interesting birds, The water is literally 3 mins away. Never seen any walking nasties at all. Bathroom had... more

My partner, his kids aged 14 and 10 and myself just got back from 7 nights in Noumea staying at Le Surf Hotel. I disagree with the bad reviews about Le Surf on this site. Ok its not the flashest hotel in Noumea but neither is it the worst. It clearly states that the rooms only have tea and coffee... more

We were on our honeymoon trip and Noumea was one of the stopovers. The hotel was in a very good location but that's all I can find good to talk about this hotel... it was like stepping back into the 70's - 80's. The reception area was ok. The rooms and bathrooms were very dated and we had a constant... more

I agree with the last reviewer, who was there at the same time as me. Hotel needs to be bulldozed. Most staff need some basic training, passive-aggressive by and large. I think they resent the French and take it out on anyone who visits. Such a shame for them. Would like to go back but I don't think i want... more

The Le Surf Noumea is a very poor hotel. I note that a previous reviewer was surprised it was listed as a 4 star hotel. It is now listed as a 3 star but I can confirm it is barely at 2 star standard. Virtually no in-room facilities and very old, dirty and run down. The garden view rooms don't... more

My husband and I spent a week in Noumea earlier this year. We had a nice time but won't be back and are discouraging others from going (it will be Vanuatu or Fiji from now on). I wish we had known a few things before booking Noumea: 1. expensive - avg. prices for modest meals for 2 was Dinner -... more
