Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights only (weekend break) Staff is friendly and always willing to help in their manner (not always professional but ok). Nice diner buffet with dancing shows. Nice balcony with great view over the lagoon. Just lovely. Awesome location as it's next to Lemon Bay nightlife and next to reputable restaurants. But... Bad internet connection... More

First room smelt so bad it made my eyes water, second room we had to leave the balcony doors open , just walking down the halls you could smell the rotten mould in the building.House keeping was questionable at best , forgetting to replenish the rooms , dirty bathroom floor,no face cloths etc.Mattress so soft they gave us backache. The... More

First of all, the room smelled so bad that I spent half my only night there having the balcony door and the hallway doors open to ventilate the room and trying to get rid of the musty smell. The room was very old and outdated. The towels were gross as well as the bathroom. The sheets were relatively clean. The... More

Hotel Le Surf is a hotel with many contradictions. Many of the criticisms in other reviews are valid but there is also much to recommend at the Hotel. Having just stayed there as part of a group for 7 days utilising 7 rooms I think I am in a good position to provide a balanced review. I have rated the... More

Staying here while on business in New Caledonia. Room was stale and smelly, there was no way to stop the tiny above bath shower from flooding the bathroom. Soaps and shampoos were not replaced, internet was there but not strong enough to load any content. No gym, or any help from staff on where to find one and the buffet... More

I recommend you do not stay at this hotel, I cleaned my room when I left and was a good customer. The food from the buffet was terrible just cold meats and croissonts, the wifi did not work, the tv is all only in french, and the hotel is definatly past its prime.. But worst of all when I got... A hotel past it's prime and in need of maintenance work. We stayed here as our travel plans were disrupted by road flooding elsewhere in New Caledonia. The managers were helpful in transferring our prepaid voucher from another hotel in their chain to le Surf on short notice and gave us a room upgrade. Their helpfulness, the friendly staff and... The most disappointing hotel experience I've ever had. It is simply not well looked after and is in major need of renovations and a complete paint job. As soon as I entered the lift to go up to my room, I could smell mould and the smell was even worse in my room. There were marks all over the carpet... More
