I stayed 2 nights at the start and end of my new Caledonia stay. Excellent location, amazing view of fireworks on 13 july and other nights. Helpful staff, very good value, lots of power points, and friendly atmosphere

It would be the fourth time that I stayed in this place it's only a 5 mins down to town. this place has put into place a very good system that you have your own little locker so you have plates, bowl, cutlery and glass also in the walking chiller you have another locker for whatever you need to be chilled. I have spent 2 nights in dorm here and I enjoyed staying here. The location is great, near Place de Cocotiers. To/from airport you can take the Carsud Bus only 400XPF. The room is clean, bright, lots of space, cage there. The common room and kitchen is great, lockers provided. You could communicate with other traveller. I have met Ollie... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hostel. In fact, I think it was one of the better hostels I've ever stayed in. As many of the other reviews have pointed out, it is basic; everything you need, nothing you don't. But it is the staff and the atmosphere which really make it stand out in my mind. Conveniently located close... More

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip in New Caledonia and for 3 nights at the end of our trip over new year. It is the only hostel in Noumea so it could be terrible and get away with it seeing as there is no competition - but instead, it is just fantastic. On our first day we... More

A fairly basic youth hostel which is conveniently close to Nouméa city centre (if you can handle the staircase). Staff are helpful, the view over the bay is great and it's pretty much the only place to stay in town if you're travelling on the budget. However, do not expect luxury: the rooms are very basic, institutional and not entirely... More

Rooms We stayed in a double room, and returned to stay a few days later and stayed in a twin room. The rooms are tiled and are basic, with the bed/s and an open sided shelf/wardrobe. There was a fan, a mossie plug in and both rooms had access to a small balcony with good views over Noumea. The staff... More

As everyone says, this is the only hostel in town - a great location on the hill overlooking the city and port. We took a double room. The bed was a bit odd - two very tall singles pushed together, with quite thin mattresses - but there was a fabulous view from the balcony. (Ask for the room on the... More

This is a very good hostel. Superb kitchen indeed with amazing fridge. There are plenty of cardboard games and a table tennis. The rooms have only the strict minimum needed: bed, outdoor chair and bare shelves. The bathroom and showers are clean and with hot water. The location is good with a nice view however the stairs to go uphill... More

The only hostel in town, it has everything you need, including a huge kitchen and spaces for each guest in the fridge. As many other reviewers have mentioned it feels a little spartan, and I agree. The tiled floors, the metal bunks and luggage cages in the room give it almost a prison-like feel. But its clean, and the staff are... More
