The Airways has some great aspects to it. For Port Moresby the price is a little higher than others, but it is probably the best hotel in the area. Lots of choices on rooms, the Bachus rooms are the cheapest and in the older part of the hotel – the aircon didn’t work for me when I first went to... More

Recently stayed at the Airways that has gone through a refurbishment - unfortunately the cuisine was far better before the improvements. The old style Melanesian Airways was far better and the food had a Papua New Guinean slant with great pork and seafood dishes. These days are long gone and have been replaced with a bland airport style that will... More

Although comparatively high priced Airways is by far and away the most comfortable stopover I've had on any business trip. Rooms are very large with separate living spaces. Additionally there is a work space with room to spread out. The staff here are also very friendly and helpful and service the rooms once a day. My room and living space... More

Having traveled to parts of PNG for years I was recommended the Airways Hotel in Port Moresby. I have not been disappointed with the rooms, service and security. They have a loyalty system, in return I have been upgraded a several times which is always a pleasant surprise.

so why the title? Well we had too long layovers in Port Moresby airport and following a tip from a friend went to have breakfast at the Airways hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Even more appreciated on the way back than out! We also paid a small fee to use the pool area... More

Considering this is an airport hotel virtually perched on the runway, it is mind-boggling how elegant and well-appointed it is for the Western traveler. From the spa ("Bliss") easily comparable to one you may find at a Westin or Four Seasons resort, to the rooftop view-friendly restaurant offering a delicious buffet of Indian dishes and sashimi on the night I... Good location close to the airport but not troubled by aircraft noise. Security is taken very seriously with key cards necessary to access the lift and guards by the gates, just so sad this is needed. The restaurant by the pool was excellent and the pool itself very pleasant. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Airways hotel gives you the feeling of luxury and security. Stepping into the hotel makes you forget that you are in Papua New Guinea. It can be considered as an airport hotel and convenient if u are on a business trip or transit.

I travel frequently through the capital city but I usually stay at a guest lodge. This was an unexpected trip the guest lodge was full and the choices were limited for the one night I needed. Airways was having a February sale and for the extra luxury it ended up costing less than the rest of the motels. I was... More

Had to spend 24 hours here thanks to Air Nuigini. Basically spent it by the pool and in the restaurant and cafe. The amenities at the hotel are great, as are the rooms. The airline picked up our bill so not sure about the value but I did here that it wasn't cheap.

Hello David H Thank you for your comment. Pool is a much better option than waiting at the Airport for a long time. I am happy that you spend your time at Airways and relaxed. As far as the prices are concerned, Port Moresby is generally expensive for good quality accommodation. Airways is right at the top for quality and... More
