Loloata is a great break from the heart of Port Moresby or for PNG travellers who want a break before travelling elsewhere. It is primarly geared to diving, so don't expect the comforts and luxury of a five star resort such as pool, bars and flat screen TVs. Much of the weekend clientele are expats living in PM or from... Safe, beautiful, with excellent food and wine list. We didn't dive but spent 2 days here chilling out before entering Papua New Guinea proper. Fascinating range of people from all around the world visiting and great after dinner conversation as darkness falls. Rooms pretty basic but waterfront units with balcony over sea highly recommended for falling asleep to sound of... More

You can take off in Cairns at 6.30 am and be on a beautiful tropical island by 9.15am via a very stable new 15 mtr aluminium catarmaran that can seat 80 pax if needed. surrounded by fantastic diving. You can travel from Cairns Australia and do 2 dives on the day you travel. furtherest sites are 30 mins with most... More

Absolutely wonderful! Loved everything about this charming Island resort. Friendly staff, delicious food and great snorkeling. I stayed in one of the cabins on the beach and it was an amazing experience. Glorious sunrises and sunsets.

We spent part of a day and one night here between flights. The pick up from the airport was a little late however this was not a problem as the Gateway hotel kindly took us in their shuttle bus to their hotel where they phoned Loloata to unform them that we had landed. They then picked us up from the... More

We didn't stay the night at this hotel, we just did a day trip over to go scuba diving off the island. We did however have lunch at the restaurant and spent some time walking around so although I cannot comment on the rooms I can comment on the overall facilities. Please find a summary below: Positives: prompt pick up... More

As part of a package for our trek this was first and last night of a trip to PNG. The boat ride across the bay is pleasant. The bus ride to the boat ride is depressing, skirting Moresby's CBD, which may or may not be a good thing. Anyway, the arrival was interesting, onto the long jetty in what was... More

My hubby and I stayed here for our last night in PNG after a trip to Tari and Karawari. We were warned that Port Moresby is not safe so opted for Loalata. At first we were disappointed since it is advertised as a 'resort', and it is far from the case. When the owner was not around, the customer service... More

The best thing that you can say about this "resort" is that it is safe and they are resting on those laurels. The place is grubby with bits of trash around and "rustic" is too kind. All the reviews must have been written by trekkers who had eaten packaged rations for 7 days on the trail-the food was overcooked, had... More

Loloata resort is probably the safest place to stay around Port Moresby. Don't expect a 5 star hotel, prices in the area are high but in this respect Loloata is a fair deal. With some 20+ bungalows they offer an all inclusive formula, the food is good. Very friendly staff, so is the boss..
