I came here just for an afternoon/evening after my conference before flying out. It was a good option for seeing a bit of wildlife if you are only in Port Moresby and don't have time to go very far. It was an easy ride from the airport and a quick boat ride. The food was great, although the cultural show... More

The drive to the jetty took us approximately 30 minutes from Jacksons Parade and it was okay. The roads however could be a lot better. Dangerous pot holes along the way and the sight of rubbish strewn is not good for the country. We got to the jetty on time and was picked up by the owner Captain Knight. Pleasant... More

I stayed here with some friends, each having our own room. The rooms were very basic and simple. The view and the location of the place is so nice that nothing else matters. The food is basic but good. Go there for a weekend.

Stayed there twice and enjoyed it very much. Stayed at the non air conditioned over the water bungalows and the air conditioned ones that are more on the back. The over the water experience is better. The scuba diving is not as good as Rabaul and Kavieng. I was told it is a seasonal effect, I am not so sure... More

I knew this place from my colleague, the last day of January 2015 I had the chance to visit this. If you are coming from abroad just book, let them know your itinerary then they will pick you up from the airport whatever time is then drive you to get the boat to the island. Vice versa if you flight... More

The owner picked us up on his boat and it was great. When we got to the island, it was pleasantly clean and well looked after. The lunch was good and the day use chalet was acceptable standard for this country.

We caught our first glimpse of Loloata Island from the plane as we descended into Port Moresby. We had a pleasant 15 minute boat ride over to the island where we were greeted by friendly staff. Or cabin was located over the water's edge. Though quite basic it was clean and tidy. Housekeeping remade our room each day while we... More

Just returned home from a fantastic dive holiday at Loloata Island Resort. Perfect weather and varied diving - wrecks, reef and "muck", its all just a short boat trip from the resort. The dive staff are competent and friendly and delight in finding the unusual critters. The resort staff are lovely. Food was good and plentiful. Rooms were comfortable. All... More

Loloata is a great break from the heart of Port Moresby or for PNG travellers who want a break before travelling elsewhere. It is primarly geared to diving, so don't expect the comforts and luxury of a five star resort such as pool, bars and flat screen TVs. Much of the weekend clientele are expats living in PM or from...
