Well situated in the heart of Candelaria. Good Italian restaurant on the premises where we ate dinner twice at a reasonable price. Breakfasts were fine. Comfortable room with room safe. Water is provided in the room, but be aware it is NOT free! No English spoken by reception staff so be aware that unless you have a basic knowledge of... More

I enjoyed the weekend I spent here. My room was clean and comfortable; the bathroom was modern and spotless. The staff were well-trained, helpful, and friendly, except for one snooty day manager. The free breakfast was pretty basic, but the seafood dinner I bought was excellent. The neighborhood is pretty deserted after dark; it's well south of the bars in... More

I used this hotel as a base while in Colombia & stayed here four times during July & August 2014. Each time I found the accommodation to be very clean & comfortable. Not many staff speak English so I found this a challenge, but even so they were usually helpful & friendly.. The restaurant food was good although breakfast could... More

I stayed here recently with my family (4 of us) and we had a wonderful stay in the Candelaria neighborhood of Bogota. You can't beat this location! It's close enough to walk to the major attractions, yet the hotel is on the quiet part of a picturesque cobblestone street. The inside has a cozy feel, the owner in particular is... More

Location is fantastic, in the best part of La Candelaria: the trendiest and less busiest area of this charming neighbourhood. Close to most museums. The junior rooms are extremely small and staff, not so kind for Colombian standards.

The great point of the Abadia Colonial Hotel is its localization: in the historical center of the city, La Candelaria, 5 minutes-walk to the Botera Museum/ Gabriel Garcia Marquez Center/ Plaza de Bolivar. Moreover, the Internet connection is quite decent. It's useful because the staff is definitely not English neither French speaking, so it's necessary to use Google Translate to... More

Positives: Very authentic Columbian culture motif in architectural design and decorations. Seems less of an inner city hotel, and more of a large hacienda in a remote rural Columbian area whose family has invited you as their personal guest staying in a private room. Very comfy with an exceptional restaurant of fine foods, wines and other spirits. No need to... More

Kind Mr. Jerry, Thanks for your beautiful review. We never affirm with we speak English. It is average that we know English, French or Italian is better for the service, but for me is most important that the employee is honest and he comes to work tomorrow. We have change fifteen collaborator in five months. Best wishes Paolo Rocchi More

The Abadia Colonial is located in the La Candelaria area of Bogota which is the old section of the city and the most interesting. Upon arriving at the hotel via taxi, the owner, Paolo Rocchi, met us and helped with our luggage. He asked the taxi driver how much the cost of the ride was and when he heard the... More

Arrived here from the airport at 11pm but was swiftly checked in by the night receptionist, no need to see our passports and such until tomorrow. Very good when your body thinks it's 4am! Stayed two nights. Our room was called Camelia (a "Classic double") and was in the second courtyard which is a bit more private. Well furnished, good... More

The Abadia Colonial Hotel is in an old villa and has attractive comfortable accommodations that open onto the interior courtyards. The location is in the colorful Candelaria (historic) District, with nearby attractions and restaurants. It really helps to have a little Spanish, as most of the people who work at the hotel don't have much English; however they are very... More
