Stayed for 1 night recently, thankfully no more. Very very noisy room, not only loud outside noise all night but you could clearly hear conversations from the rooms next door. Room and bathroom really small. On a good note the staff were lovely and helpful

Stayed here for one night... was very happy with the location- right next to the old town. The rooms were amazing...for this reason i would class it more of a hotel b&b then hostel. The breakfast was great...cereals, coffee and cooked eggs. Lovely patio and the interior was relaxing and tranquil...perfect for unwinding after a day exploring the city. If... More

We found platypus in a Columbian guide book and it sounded great,Pity print isn't a picture.Supposedly renovated with extra rooms, must have turned storage space into rooms.Small and not that neat, very cramped from common room to bedroom,Kitchen dirty and small,Staff more interested in the net than guest's. Parking was 2 doors up which was extra cost and make sure you have... More

No there isn't wifi in the rooms, there isn't satellite tv, and sometimes your shower might not be that hot, but people, that is not what backpacking is about. German is one of the friendliest, most welcoming, interesting hostel owners I've ever encountered, and the Platypus is the great mecca of old school, true adventure travelers who aren't just on... Very basic, no internet in rooms (at least when I was there) and as long as there was internet in their own office they didn't seem very inclined to solve it. Their was a technician coming manhana (tomorrow). Tomorrow never came, as always in LA. Wouldn't reccomend it.

We went there just for one night. We had a nice, but very small room. Luckely we had only backpacks and no trunks. There would have been no space to open them. The people there were very nice and we felt very save there. The breakfast was amazing and made with love. Thanks for everything.

I stayed here for about a month. I had my own room with a bunk bed for the whole time. The staff is very courteous and welcoming. They also are very serious about security so I felt safe there. A few nice rooms are upstairs. It is also a nice atmosphere because it is an open air setting, that is... More

Didn't like it too much. Room was ok, but we were in front of reception and it was a bit noisy. And we like to smoke now and then, but this hostel had signs everywhere about how clean the air should be so we had to stand in front of the hostel to smoke. Also bathroom facilities were below standards.... More

A solid place to rest your head in Bogota, comprising a good location and strong security. It would be difficult to be too effusive about this place but it's relatively clean and breakfast is provided (albeit the strawberry yogurt was rather sweet!).
