It was the first hostel I slept in and I want to say it is a very quite cool hostel with such an amazing service, very clean place also in the shower and toilets, they have a very good website, and it's very close to the "La Candelaria" and all the good pubs!!! I sincerely recommend about this hostel!

I had sent a reservation to Explora for 2 private room with private bathrooms a couple of weeks before we departed for Bogota and got a confirmation that our rooms were booked. Just in case, I sent them an email the day before we left. They emailed me that I had not made such reservation! I was aghast and sent... More

My review is a bit delayed - my apologies to Joan and the staff - but I've been meaning to sing the praises of Explora ever since I stayed there in January. A group of friends and I used Explora as our home base for our 2 week trip to Colombia this past January, the vast majority of which we... More

I saw a Few hostals in Candelaria And this one Seemed to be the most clean And calm one. The Price is avarage. The only Thing is that the towels costs extra. But they Rent New Mountain Bikes here to have a Ride at Septima which is a big plus. Nice place!

My boyfriend and I stayed here in April at the beginning of our South American journey. Our booking got stuffed up on their system so we couldn't stay the first night but the lovely owner Joan helped us out and we stayed across the street but were welcome to use Explora's much better facilities. The place itself was airy and... More

Lovely hostel. Nice location in La Candelaria. Great wifi in bedrooms. Kitchen needs some work; unclean, too small, not many implements......e.g. no glasses!! Also I am unsure whether the pillow cases and sheets were fresh as there were many hairs on them! Though some people might not mind this!

Excellent value for money. Great location, building, interior, showers (!) Our double room was okay. Service of the staff could be much more attentive, like with (offering) breakfast and giving info about facilities and also recommendations on Bogota. For example, a map would be nice. The staff was friendly though :-)

This place has all the makings of a great hostel: good location, nice common area, interesting decor, comfy beds, clean, pleasant staff, fast wifi, and even has board games. It is great if you are looking for a quiet place to stay in Bogota. Unfortunately if you are travelling solo or looking to meet people, it is quite unlikely to... More

This hostel is clean, safe and well run. It's a great place to explore Bogota old town (Candelaria) from. After a week in the jungle the shower was fantastic with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Travelling as a couple our double room was a good size for a hostel. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you're in... More

After having not having found a decent double room with a private bathroom available anywhere in the Candelaria, we ended up in Explora Hostel by chance. We were saved: A good quality double bed with new sheets and blankets, a tiny but clean and new bathroom. A really nice common area with fast internet on the computers (didn´t need to... More
