My boyfriend and I stayed at La Vieja Suiza quite by accident. We had booked with Hostal Sue and they double booked our room for the first night so sent us to stay at La Vieja Suiza. Once we arrived we decided to stay for two nights. Its a small hostel, only three or so rooms with two bathrooms. The... More

Hostel is good and owners are very friendly, the only thing we did not like was that they did not take credit cards, which came as a surprise. And as title says they have a very nice balcony in one of the rooms :-)

We spent two nights at La Vieja Suiza and were very impressed with our accommodation. Their location is perfect to get around to the sights in La Candaleria. The area seemed quite safe up until at least 11pm and probably later. Bogota can be pretty loud at night so if this bothers you bring along your ear plugs. The room... More

My stay at this hostel has been overall good. The rooms are ok, they have a vintage feel, the owners are nice and helpful. The area where the hostel is located is somewhat central so it's near most of the places you might want to visit in Bogota. It is a bit pricy for a hostel, but then again it... More

I tried this hostel based on others' reviews and I have to say it is just ok. I am a very experienced backpacker and I have been travelled through South America and I have been to better hostels (of course also something bad too). On the good side, it is a small hostel which only has a few rooms so... More

This hostel/ hotel is great. I booked it as we were to arrive into Bogota on a late flight after 18 hours of travel and I wanted somewhere that we would get a great sleep. This place fit the bill. The bed was really comfortable with a lovely warm duvet. Breakfast the next morning was divine and the best breakfast... More

La Vieja Suiza is a small hotel/hostel very well placed in la Candelaria, own by two swiss german guys who run the swiss bakery at the first floor. If like me, you have enough of noisy hostels where it's not possible to sleep properly, where the cleanliness is to discussed, at La Vieja Suiza you will find comfortable private/double rooms... This is one of the best hostels I stayed in during my travel through South America. I had the corner room with two windows and the balcony which I liked a lot. The room was spotless clean, the bed very comfortable and there were nice little details like a towel which I didn't expect at a hostel in this price... More

Don't go to Switzerland, go to La Vieja Suiza. And enjoy beautifull Bogota just outside your doorsteps. A Cheerful, delicous and comfortable place to stay. Share and enjoy your trip there. And the Andes can be a cold place, so just hide under the real european-thick blankets and enjoy a day in bed. Don't miss the Breakfast!
