I am so pleased to review this facility. Roberto, the manager offers hospitality with a sense of family. He maintains this place clean, neat, and offers a wonderful daily breakfast with Colombian coffee, complementary. He knows Bogota very well and offers guidance on how to get around the city. Besides, the location of Casa Quevedo makes easy to visit the... More

Hostal Casa Quevedo is a great place to stay if you're looking to be close to the great little plaza - Chorro de Quevedo. This plaza is chosen as a hangout for locals Thursday through Saturday nights and you can meet other travellers there whilst having locals perform musical, comical and magical skits etc. There are plenty of restaurants nearby... First of all, the noise was terrible. Because the hostel is located on a busy square (which actually was a nice square and a great location in Candelaria) there is a lot of noise at night which kept me out of my sleep. Another annoyance was the fact that you had to ring a bell to get in. This means... More

Most uncomfortable bed I've had since China! It's made of plastic, was hard as stone, will make you sweat and the pillow is a stiff, plastic rock too. It's SO BAD that it would have been really funny if it wasn't so painful!! Also, the owner smokes downstairs which filled our room with smoke all the time and this place... More

Right on the little plaza in the very heart of Candelaria (try the pizzas in the tiny restaurant immediately to your left as you exit the hostel, if you stay); but the location is literally in the eye of the storm for noise. Friday and Saturday night the police come through and send everyone on their way at midnight, no... More

Roberto, the owner, was wonderful, hospitable man, was very helpfull. Its location was great close to Plazoleta del Chorro de Quevedo where everynight we could watch and listen to youth's performances. It's a wonderful place to feel the atmosphere of Colombia. When one of us got sick Roberto helped us. So in my opinion this place was our home in... More

We loved our stay at Casa Quevedo. We weren't sure how we would find it after reading a bad review, but we were pleasantly surprised. Roberto, the owner was incredibly kind, and cooked us a delicious breakfast every morning; an omelette with a croissant and a fresh cup of hot coffee. He also gave a us a map, answered every... More

Kitchen was filthy, bathroom had a layer of grime on everything. Cold and empty. Very noisy at night. Didn't feel safe at night waiting on the doorstep for upwards of 5 minutes waiting for someone to unlock the door.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel, is a two story house, it has a coffee-bar, TV and game area, there’s an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy a good coffee, beer, take the sun or just enjoy the beautiful sight that the down town area offers. The accommodations are very comfortable due to the high quality standards that we manage at our hostel. The hostel is located near the university area and most of the interesting touristic places like museums, cafes, restaurants, shopping centers and many other places of interest. The hostel is located in the heart of where Bogota was found. The house preserves its original architecture and it’s a warm place to spend a good stay. Since the hostel is located in the down town area of Bogota, the transportation is rich due to the fact that the down town area is the epicenter of the city’s financial, academic and cultural start point of the city. Knowing this, if the traveler arrives to the airport or the bus terminal, he will find a wide variety of options such as buses, cabs, and in a near future, the wide web of the city’s public transportation service called (TRASMILENIO) which nearest bus stop is three block from the hostel known as (EJE AMBIENTA). Any option the traveler choose, he just has to make sure to identify the right bus or to indicate the cab driver that he wants to go to the Candelaria (CHORRO DE QUEVEDO), and it will be easy to arrive to the hostel.
