Stayed here for a couple of nights and was impressed. Our room was comfortable with a great bathroom and lots of shelf space for clothes. The location is perfect, right on the central Journalists' Square and five minutes from the Gold Museum and Emerald district. Security is good, with reception manned 24/7 and an entry phone system to get in.... More

Had a great stay at the casa platypus, it is right in the heart of downtown near the major touristy areas and the university area where the night life seems to be great. The staff was very helpful in showing me where to explore and where to avoid and i felt like i became a local during my stay

Casa Platypus is an excellent choice. Great location on the boarder of La Candaleria and city central. Easy walk to food, museums and Monseratte. The staff at the Platypus are most helpful. Roman was able to get us a helpful tour guide (Margarita) and he offered suggestions for exploring on our own. The rooms were spotless! Thank you Roman for... More

I loved staying at Casa Platypus! Beautiful, clean and hot showers. The breakfast was great every morning and the reception staff always helpful. Roman particularly was the most helpful person I've ever met, thanks again Roman! If you're staying in La Candelaria this is a great place to stay and it is close to bars, restaurants, stores, etc. It can... More

I agree with the recent positive reviews of this great place near all the attractions. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic and plentiful. If your room faces the street on a weekend night you might hear the young people out celebrating but that was a minor nuisance, I heartily recommend the Casa Platypus.

ok...this place is right in the middle of the university area...if you stay here you will hear young people out on a Saturday night, and possibly other nights too....you might even hear traffic going by, but if you want a friendly, cool, and actually recognisable, as you cant walk past without noticing it, place next to all the best graffiti... I stayed here for two nights at the end of April. It is a fine place to stay and good for those on a budget. Plenty of positives: It is centrally located with easy access to all the main sites of La Candelaria and transportation. The staff are very helpful and welcoming. I arrived early (0930) and it was no... More

We stayed in this hostel for three nights. It is in the center of Bogota, not far from the cable cars to Montserate. But because it is that near to the center, it is very loud. You can hear all the noises from the celebrating peoples on the street (especially at weekends). You can also hear very well your hostel... More

We spent 2 nights on this nice hotel. They receive us with free cofee and a cleany room. They helped us to find a minivan and we could go to Zipaquira catedral, they picked up at the door and everything was organized for us. You can cook if you want on a luxury kitchen and there is a rooftop top... More

The staff at Casa Platypus are exceptionally helpful and friendly, particularly Roman. They go out of their way to make you fell welcome and help you to navigate the city. It's a charming establishment that the owner obviously takes great care in keeping up. Our favorite part was the rooftop terrace and delicious breakfast with other travelers. Would have given...
