Beautifully maintained historic home located in the center of Bogota's bohemian La Candelaria district. Daytime receptionist Roman is knowledgeable and helpful. Charming rooms and good shower, but matress quality left me wanting.

After a little bit of difficulty finding the hotel due to confusion with the address for Platypus Hostel we were warmly greeted by the staff at Casa Platypus even though it was after 11pm. The hotel has quite simple rooms around a central courtyard. The location is very convenient for a lot of sightseeing options. The only issue we had... More

A well located hotel in heart of La Candelaria, with exceptionally friendly and very helpful staff. The rooms are nice, clean and well laid out and easily had the best shower of anywhere else we stayed in the Colombia - so hot and big. Nice bedding too. I stayed here twice, once on arrival and again before departing Colombia, 1st... More

Find it really difficult to see how this establishment can describe itself as a "luxury hotel" as it is little more than a fairly decent backpackers` hostel. In a good location, for sure, it has a very pleasant reception area (with an equally pleasant receptionist, Paloma) and ground floor courtyard. However, rooms are very basic and, when I stayed there,... More

A well located hotel in heart of Candelaria. Good breakfast. Plenty of hot water. Walking distance to all sights. Great front desk staff fluent in English and very helpful. Arrived very early 7am and were given a room right away. This was much appreciated after a red eye flight and missed connections. Thank you Roman!!! Would highly recommend this small... More

Lovely rooms, great WiFi, lovely food, good kitchen facilities and lovely staff who speak good english - I really liked this place. It is very well located in Candelaria for banks, food, nightlife, museums and close to the start points of the Graffiti tour (also recommended), the bike tour, Montserrat and Musee Botero. Special mention to Roman who helped me... More

The hotel is not very easy to find, but it is located in the heart of the Candelaria, very close to many attractions included the Botero Museom, the Gold museum and the Cerro de Monserrate. The hotel is simple but comfortable and clean and the staff, who speak very good English, are friendly and helpful. In particular, I would like... More

I've only stayed in this hotel for one night as I entered Colombia thru Bogota. Good location with friendly staff, the minuses though are it is a bit chili in Bogota at night and the room has no heating, I was freeing, I went to bed with all my clothes on and I got an extra blanket to put on... I spent a weekend here when the hotel was less than 1/4 occupied. My room was noisy; it had a large window facing the courtyard that's outside the lobby. The clerk wouldn't move me to a quieter room in the back, even though there were at least 8 unoccupied double rooms back there. He lied and said nothing in back... More

Stayed here for a couple of nights and was impressed. Our room was comfortable with a great bathroom and lots of shelf space for clothes. The location is perfect, right on the central Journalists' Square and five minutes from the Gold Museum and Emerald district. Security is good, with reception manned 24/7 and an entry phone system to get in.... More
