My wife and I have stayed at the Viejo Molino two times and we look forward to staying there each time we go to Bolivia. This is an incredible trip of adventure and contradictions. To get to the Viejo Molino you will first arrive at La Paz, Bolivia which is located at an altitude of 12600 feet. If you have traveled from the USA, you will have to stay a day or two in La Paz catch up on your rest before continuing to Coroico where the Viejo Molino Hotel is located. From La Paz you travel by land to the town of Coroico in about 4 hours. Most amazing, you will drive your rental car or ride a bus on a road that must first travel across the mountains reaching an altitude of 17000 feet before descending down to about 2000 feet when you reach Coroico. It is amazing to go from snow capped mountains to tropical jungle is such a short time.
