We went to this hotel to look at the menu of the top floor restaurant this week. We went back yesterday and we were surprised to see no staff in the lobby, but a group of police officers telling us it was closed ???

This hotel was good, it is well located. It is a 15 minute walk back from Calle de las Brujas and San Francisco Church (going there you should take a taxi, it's up a hill...). The room were big, and clean. It was a little dated, but nothing major... The day we checked out, we had to go to the... More

While on a tour around South America, our group spent a restful night at the Plaza Hotel. We were between 2 really great boutique hotels in Chile and Isla del Sol, but this one stood up in comfort and dramatic beauty to both. First of all, it was great to note that this hotel seemed to be the exact center... More

I stayed there twice - 2 nights at the end of a leg of a tour and then 2 nights again after a visit to Uyuni. The first time, one of the group got stuck in the elevator for 15 minutes and although this can happen, there was no apology from the staff. This same person dined at the Penthouse,... More

Located on the Prado next door to the Ministry of Justice (hope the need does not arise) and opposite Alexanders Coffee Shop (worth it for coffee and snacks). A very comfortable room with 2 double beds and excellent hot water etc, as one would expect. Very good views along the Prado especially from the penthouse restaurant. Staff very friendly and... Located midcity on El Prado, the hotel is well situated for walking to historic plazas and churches. We stayed for 4 nights with a 2 night interval in Copacabana. Both rooms at Plaza La Paz were large and clean. We had 2 excellent dinners in the 9th floor dining room overlooking the Prado. The food, presentation and service were high... More

Hotel Plaza in La Paz, is known from everybody, with its modern architecture in the very centre of the biggest city of Bolivia. May be some 30 years ago when the promoters built it, it was deserving 5 stars, as it still pretends to aim. It is certainly not the case, a old style 4 stars would be more exact.... More

Stayed there for a couple of days in June of this year. Room price was 110 $US for a double room with decent furniture and two queen size beds, BUT: At the end of a very long check-in process, the unfriendly man at the counter asked for our permission to make a voucher of the credit card. Having experienced bad... More

Unlitke the last time I was there, this time they gave me a room in the 9th floor, which was a big change in mine point of view. It seems that they renovated floor and rooms. Overall the room looked better than a room in the 6th floor, where I was in the last time at the hotel, still had... More

We stayed with a group so I can't comment on value. This might have been a 5-star hotel at one point, but it has aged. The rooms were unexceptional and the lobby restaurant was mediocre at best. Breakfast was included and wasn't even worth eating - however they did cook eggs to order to save us from the horrible ones... More
