By Motel 5 I mean worse than both motel 8 and 6. Overheated, ant-infested gym had 6 prehistoric machines, of which 4 were broken (if I were American I would sue for the hazard caused by the "treadmill"). Tacky 1990's layout with painfully slow check-in service. Overall: Depressing and disgraceful, a shame for such a lovely city.

Regarding the Hotel decoration, we are planning a renovation, so the look of our property will soon change and look much more modern. Regarding the fitness center complains. Clean, comfortable, four star hotel, central, anonymous, good staff, soulless restaurant, minimal bar, nice pool and sauna area, good small shop with local gifts. We stayed on three occasions in between exploring Bolivia, and were so well looked after, given a very spacious bedroom suite. They looked after our excess luggage, ordered taxis (airport 30 mins) etc. good base.

Solid quality hotel. Large, clean room and great bathroom. Good location. 1 row back from the noisy main drag, 15 minutes to San Francisco church, 15 minutes walk to Plaza Murillo. OK breakfast, but boring if you stay more than a day or two. The "gastronomic" restaurant was good. One block away there is a good restaurant with german and... More

This hotel is part of the Summit chain, unknown at the time of booking. Rooms first class. Only drawback is the dearth of good restaurants nearby, not counting the usual fast food chains. However, we used the hotel Bistro; what a breath of fresh air. Service good and food excellent. Had the best Surubi river fish for dinner that we... More

The hotel has international standards. We had room number 905 which was a great corner room: no noise from the street and other rooms, really spacious with a writing desk, bathtub, underfloor heating. The bed was very comfortable and big. The front desk is helpful but slow. Ask two times if you need anything. Around 20 minutes walk to the... More

We asked a non smoker room and they gave us that (many hotels lie about it), the rooms weren't old, like the ones in the radisson or plaza hotels, breakfast time ends at 10am sharp dough. Their spa is also great.

We were on a 7 day trip to Bolivia. The tour company, Crillon Tours through Avanti Travel, booked our hotels and tours. Upon arrival at 10,000 feet or 2 miles high, we spent the first day sleeping. Hubby was extremely ill by the first evening. The second day, I jumped on the Internet to find out what was wrong. Seems... More

Big rooms and plenty of space to enjoy in the bathrooms. Centrally located with great breakfast buffet. Lobby is grand and second floor is hosting functions regularly. It is a good place to stay. Staff are all helpful and nice. I would go back to it if needed.

We are spending two nights at this La Paz hotel at the end of our 2 week Peru/Bolivia trip. We stayed in the residential suite and it is roomy and comfortable enough.
