My girlfriend and I stayed in the presidential suite of this hotel when we visited La Paz. The hotel is well located minutes from the main boulevard. The room is beautiful and spacious with lots of antique furniture and fixtures that add a real charm. There is also a restaurant in the hotel that serves a fantastic breakfast - it... More

We stayed here for 2 nights - the room (ground floor) was charming and very spacious, and the garden was a lovely place to unwind. The hotel is located within waking distance of tourist attractions and restaurants. Staff were excellent. Would stay again if in La Paz.

A lovely, extremely friendly boutique hotel right in the heart of La Paz. Travelling solo, they ensured I was well looked after, well fed at breakfast and cosy for both my short stays (I had a visit elsewhere in the middle). Laundry, airport transfers and personal incoming calls all handled faultlessly. I even received a packed breakfast for my final... More

I did not stay at the hotel - but ate at the restaurant for breakfast and lunch. A simple but tasty menu which offered a break from the Hotel Europa next door. Particularly nice as the location of the restaurant a conservatory overlooking a small garden, a perfect setting for a relaxing breakfast. I also bought a beautiful knitted garment... More

El Consulado really is a Boutique Hotel set in an old house that used to be a consulate. It has huge and beautiful rooms, a beautiful garden and it even has a showroom in the lobby/living room of local handcrafts (artisanía), clothes and books.

An oasis in the heart of a busy town. We loved the colonial style, great comfort of the room and the good kitchen. We especially appreciated all the efforts of the staff treating one of us suffering from height sickness and solving troubles with our creditcard. Good starting point for a trip in Bolivia!

La Paz can be an overwhelming city. Also I was there during Carnivale! El Consulado is a little piece of Paradise to rest, recover and launch out into the busy city. Breakfast is simple, but tasty. They made me a breakfast 'to go' when I checked out at 6am. Staff are excellent. The manager also runs a tour company downstairs... More

We paid US$282 for a presidential suite and was put on ground floor next to the small reception and facing the road . You can hear the receptionist and staff talking and car noises and music . There was no tv only a small radio and it was plug to loosely wire wall plug . Only two power points to... More

Perfectly situated 1 minute from el prado. The staff were very professional and service minded. The rooms are big and with an atmosphere of an old consulate. The breakfast is delicious . A great advantage is that the travel agency Topas is in the basement of the hotel. They will help you with all excursions and travels in Bolivia. We... More

El Consulado was elegant, beautiful, and quiet - the rooms had ridiculously high ceilings and we had an amazing claw foot bathtub. It was just what we needed after returning from our Uyuni salt flat tour. We were pleasantly surprised when we were allowed to check in when we arrived at 7am, fresh off the overnight bus from Uyuni. Everyone... More
