This was my first stop in La Paz, just for a night , before to take the bus to Uyuni. It's a big hostel with a splendid view of the city.Situated in proximity of a big street with heavy traffic it's a little complicate to have a good sleep. My first room was very basic, but clean, with an old tv,old... More

This was the nicest place to come to after a long time of feeling dirty and sleeping on buses etc. DEFINITELY go with the clothes cleaning place they have advertised there. Very pitiful breakfast but its next to some yum and cheap restaurants. It's within walk of many main places eg. witches market, cathedrals, that famous prison lol. I'd happily... More

We stayed here for a long time. We ended up staying here again after our 10 day trip into the jungle. The place is very clean and smells it too. The bedrooms are great, nice bedding, comfy pillows, towels, soaps etc. also we had read a lot of reviews about other hostels in la paz and how the water pressure... More

Do not stay here. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the bedding is old and dirty. The pillows are the worst I've ever slept on. The rooms are dingy and extremely loud. The only positive is it is in a good location, however the hotel itself is a hole.

We arrived at 5am and they let us check in straight away without charging for prior night. Hotel located near lots of restaurants. Street seemed a bit dingy at night. Room was decent and wi-fi was available on and off throughout our stay. Nice lounge on top level with book swap and DVD collection. Staff helped us book transport to... More

We arrive at La Paz very late, and it was great to find such a great place. The rooms are great, you have always hot water. Its close from the city center. The breakfest its also great in a living room with very beautiful views.

Using Trip Advisor and Booking.com to compare reviews USUALLY stands me in good stead. Not so at Hostal Provenzal. All I can think is that the rooms on Level 1 are appalling and everyone else must have stayed on another floor, or another hotel. They got our booking wrong to start, twin instead of double. No biggie, they were not... More

This place is really well located for the tourist area La Paz. Within a few feet of the front door you have a good choice of restaurantes and loads of tourist shops and agents around the Witches' Market. The hostel is clean and well managed. There is no social aspect to the place - it's not that type of hostel,... More

The room was simple. The bathroom quality was average. It's good that they had the elevator to make going upstair easier. The staffs were helpful. It's located near the main shopping street. The area for having breakfast on the 4th floor was decorated cutely. With the clear sky, you can see some part of the snow mountain from this room.

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty ordinary and are what can be expected for the kind of price. They are clean and the showers are really good! The location is pretty good and relatively close to the bus station and many other attractions. Breakfast was really simple but not any worse than other places... More
