Was afraid about other comments here, but hotel is really good, huge rooms with plenty of space, clean, almost inside the beach and very comfortable. Breakfast is regular, bread, coffee, milk, water and fruits are ok. There is a playroom on the hotel basement, if a bit dark inside but my kid could have some fun over there, toys are... More

You are on the beach...right on it.. But the hotel is at the far end of Punta del este and La Barra...so car is a must. The rooms a good and service very good. So if you don't mind the driving is a great choice with the kids.

I had to LIVE here for 3 months while working in Punte Del Este and pretty much everything said about it is true. Stuck in time, 1972 or thereabouts, and incredibly OLD to the GILLS. Ancient TV's and air conditioners, Noisy echo-ey halls and sub-par quality through out. Its BASIC - "Leaving Las Vegas" MOTEL on the beach. Yes it... More

I'm not a very pretentious guy, but when I stay at a 5 star hotel, i expect at least: Modern/updated infrastructure, sound proofed rooms, buffet breakfast, LCD tv, radio/cd player etc. Well, I did not find anything of the above at Las Dunas... The location is unbeatable, the place is on the beach, in a quiet part of "La Barra"... More

Actually, not sure where the fourth star comes from. I used a 50% discount coupon to stay there the weekend of November 10,2012. I stayed at a junior suite which was ample and with nice view of the sea. However, the elevator was not working properly, the cold water-tap in the bathroom gave no water at all, the faucett at... This is a very nice but OLD hotel, well located jn La Barra, Punta del Este. Very clean and good service, like everything else in Punta: Expensive for what it is.

Frontview hotel with a great potential. Only needs investment and to improve its management. Off-peak good prices, specially the junior suite, and which is a very confortable and spacious room. On top of that, rooms have enclosed terraces where you can rest, even if it´s cold, and enjoy the beautiful view of the ocean sea. I use to stay here... More

It is a classic example of poor management or lack of it. It could perfectly be a 5 stars hotel but it hardly arrives to 3. Rusted air conditioners, dirty bed covers, and plenty of unrepaired furniture. Its only advantage is its good location.

I visit Punta del Este with my kids at least twice every year, this time we booked Las Dunas as it had good rates, it has a great location and claims to be a 5 star hotel. First of all, everything is old and dirty. Our suite had a disgusting carpet, old furniture, old tv, really old airconditioning, old curtains,... More

PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT "LAS DUNAS". Let me explain further. I am Argentiean/American. I stayed there a week ago, and I can asure you you will be DEFINETELY dissapointed with all aspects of the services, except location. -Breakfast: cheap orange juice, cheap bread, reaaally cheap coffee -Infraestructure: Baby chairs broken/cheap just "one", Staff not happy with their employer and...
