Best waffle ever!! The best place to stay in Punta del Este. Expansive, ok, but worth it. Nice people, perfect staff. It's amazing to take a break and spend some time with your wife/husband and kids. Enjoy.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at this quaint, cozy, elegant hotel when we traveled to Punta del Este this winter. For the duration of our stay, there was an unexpected and uncharacteristic lighting storm. While our hopes for laying on the beach were dashed, the hotel owner and concierge did an AMAZING job helping us to find... More

We had, as usual, a superb one weekend stay at the best hotel in Punta. The food was excellent, the breakfast with freshly baked scones and unforgettable expressos. The service is invisible, but you know it is always there. Betty, at the reception, is worth a separate word of praise. A real home, away from home.

This is perhaps one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed at (along with Llangoed Hall many years ago in Wales). The room we stayed in was beautiful. The grounds are very nice. Beautiful, well-maintained gardens. Short walk to the beach but secluded from traffic. The owners and staff are superb. Breakfasts are excellent as are the lunches.... More

As a regular traveler to Uruguay it is almost a requirement, and certainly a privilege, to visit this family owned hidden gem. The elegant hotel oozes class and character, from the cozy rooms to the beautifully manicured garden with spaced out seating which offers generous opportunity to relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. Take a stroll to the beach or... More

From the time that you drive up to the door of this majestic tower, you are catered to by one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff that you could desire. All of the gardens and field behind the hotel are meticulously manicured, giving an arboretum type of appearance. Our room accommodations were quite adequate, considering that we opted for... More

We have just stayed here for 5 nights as part of a tour of the region. First and foremost we would say that this is a beautiful old hotel with lots of character. The gardens are beautiful and it is a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon chilling out as it never feels crowded. The breakfast is served in... More

Hotel L'Auberge is a beautiful, old hotel and their service cannot be beat. We go to Punta every year and normally stay here. This year, we stayed in a suite for 4 nights at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We brought along our 8 month old child as well. The first day we were there... More

L'Auberge is quite a few kilometres from central Punta del Este. Whether you think this is a good or bad thing depends rather on exactly how close you want to be to a tower-infested resort that feels like Marbella without the glamour. You could walk, but the hotel is in the type of sidewalk-free district, where attempts to take an... More

I have stayed at L'Auberge overnight in the past. This trip I took my daughter for lunch. It's a magical place - and so unusual in this area. Very old school, "French farm house" sort of feeling…old beams, fireplaces, quaint - but absolutely first class. The grounds are gorgeous with mature old plantings. Excellent food and service - and total... More
