It was our first time in Punta del Este and had no idea where to stay. Booked this hotel via booking.com. The location is in the so called Beverly Hills area and is gorgeous, very quiet. Only a few nice restaurants within 5-10 min walking - no shops. You do want to get your own transportation if you stay here.... More

It doesn't look as nice as the pictures. It's falling apart. The owner is rude. And you can find a bettter hotel at the same price. Don't book through websites for more then one night for any suspect hotel, because if you don't like the hotel the cancellation policy skrews you.

We stayed 3 nights, arriving by road from Chile via Argentina. At first my wife and her mother did not care for the place, but they left liking it and would stayb again. The Owner (Frank) is a real character, very personable and helpful, showed me how to operte his Uraguayan perillo grill. El Medano although about 80 yeras old... More
