We were there for a workshop which was organised in the hotel. It had a lovely ambience with a good swimming pool and kids pool.Other sports facilities included badminton ,squash and tennis. The hotel also had a mini zoo . The only disadvantage was it was quite distant from the city though the hotel had a shuttle bus service. more
We spent six nights at this hotel on our first visit to Abu Dhabi. Chose it because hotels closer to the city centre are so ridiculously expensive that we looked for an alternative. We got a cheaper price here, although at roughly $400 per night it is hardly value for money. The room was ok, large, decent bed, reasonable bathroom.... more
I have never ever stayed in such an awful hotel or experienced such low standards. For a cost of almost 300 British Pounds (600 US Dollars) for the night, I received a room without ANY running water, a scorched carpet that looked like it had been set on fire and the most terrible smell of damp I have ever experienced.... more
We ended up here by default after being fog bound in Abu Dhabi en route to Malaysia. 15 mins from the airport, large clean room, good service. Spent some time in the local hotel bar which was friendly. Only quibble would be the expensive food menu, £65 pounds for two burgers and chips but after being held on the runway... more
If you need an airport stopover you can do no better than the Mufraq. It's 15 minutes by taxi from Abu Dhabi Airport. The rooms are very large and comfortable with all the amenities you need. The staff were courteous and helpful. The food was great. It's an inexpensive, unpretentious place; and that's an unusual thing in Abu Dhabi. It... more
This hotel was allocated to us by the airlines as we had a lengthy transit in Abu Dhabi, with complimentary transportation. I agree that it may be a bit out of the way for tourists. At first I was a bit apprehensive because the hotel seemed a bit oldish. But those worries disappeared quickly. The rooms are spacious, and service... more
If the four-star Mafraq Hotel in Abu Dhabi were a person it would be Barbara Cartland. At night you can spot what looks like an Arabian Fortress fort a mile off. It is almost entirely covered by garish blue green and yellow neon hues - like an explosion in a paint shop. While the description may be true it is... more
I stayed here for three weeks with colleagues whilst working in the area. The hotel itself is very pleasant, good spacious rooms with balconies overlooking the pool and the service is of a good standard. The pool is more than adequate and there is a separate area with gymnasium and sports court which are free for residents. The food was... more
Good service. Good attentative staff. Clean, spacious, quiet. Food excellent Good location-close the airport. Needs to provide a shuttle service to the airport. Needs to have more information on tourist interests in Abu Dhabi more
