We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Art House. The place has been built out of an old mill and the attention to detail and overall feel is understated luxury. The Arthouse was amazing and pleasant surprise. We had chosen to stay on a friend recommendation and because it stood apart from the cliche "old city chic" hotels. On the face of it, this remote boutique hotel nestled in an old converted mill, a mere 10 to 15 minute drive away from the center of Damascus, is a wonderful place to stay in.
