Within a few hundered meters of the Roman arch on straight street, this hotel is perfectly located and wonderfully furnished/decorated in traditional Syrian style. The house itself with the courtyard and pool was great and the breakfast and service were super. Laundry service was very good and reliable. During the three nights of our stay a slightly musty smell in... more

We just returned from a much too short visit to Damascus. We choose the Talisman Hotel based on what I had read on Trip Advisor. When we arrived at the hotel, we were even more surprised to find this little oasis. I have been involved in tourism for over 25 years so I feel that I can be quite critical... more

I booked the entire hotel for my wedding and then stayed further. Every room is individually styled and each one is wonderful; all my guests were well surprised. The hotel management was simply superb at working with us. The staff is friendly and attentive. The common pool area is calm, relaxing and beautiful. If you want to make your stay... more

At $225 + tax bed and breakfast, it's more expensive than some of the other old Damascus houses, but we visited a few, and the Talisman is in a class of its own. The decor (especially the two courtyards) is stunning, and it has a pool (which is unusual for the traditional hotels). The rooms are lovely, bathrooms are very... more

We stayed four nights at the Talisman Two hotel (there is a sister hotel named Talisman). The hotel was located in the Old City and entered off a narrow alley. We were amazed when the door opened to a luxurious boutique hotel with three courtyards. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The service was perfect . We enjoyed breakfast in... more

One of the biggest negative surprises I faced in a trip. The Hotel has a great location and a great closed yard....that's it. If you expect more from a Hotel , then run away. It's not for you. I booked a suite and I will name all things that had to be different for the money somebody has to pay... more

My partner and I stayed in the Talisman for 3 nights in October 2008 and were terribly disappointed with the service of the staff, meals that were served and overall experience at the Talisman. For the expense you are paying per night at this boutique hotel, we felt very let down – and truly believe other travellers to the area... more

We had two nights at the Talisman and liked every moment. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are set around a large courtyard with a sizeable pool in the middle. Perhaps at the height of summer with the pool in more use, this could be a bit noisy, but when we were there it was very... more

Splashed out on this place and it was worth the money. Really beatifully restored arabic house and very peaceful despite being in the heart of the old town. You can look at their website to see the layout. Staff very helpful. We had to leave early in the morning to catch our flight but still got served breakfast although the... more
