To be honest, I only stayed here as I travelled at short notice and this was the only place available. I took the risk based on little information as the hotel had not been open long. From outside, like many boutique hotels in Syria, the Ak Bik is unremarkable and it was a bit offputting to have to ring the... more

Besides the beautiful rooms and the very central location (middle of the old center), the very nice and helpful staff makes this place the best hotel to stay in. Prices are reasonable; very good value for money. I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Damascus. more

A small, (only 8 rooms) friendly hotel, newly opened in a refurbished Damascene house in the Old City - beautifully decorated. The manager and all the staff couldn't be more helpful or more charming. Sitting in the courtyard having breakfast served personally was a real treat. Liked it so much, I scuttled back for an extra 2 nights on the... more

We stayed in Syria for 12 days, of which 5 nights in Damascus. We loved the city and the hotel was the cherry on the cake. Very kind and helpful multilingual staff, beautiful rooms and exquisite location. Our son of two had a great time there too and made a lot of friend among the staff, although 5 minutes after... more

This place has only just opened and were we lucky to find it. Everything was booked out. I couldn't fault any thing. Location is perfect in the middle of the old city. It has been beautifully restored, lovely and clean, comfortable, helpful staff , great breakfast. Accomodation in Syria is very expensive and you don't get value for your money.... more

I can warmly recommend this hotel! The hotel is located very close (just a few meters) to the Straight Street which means that the location is ideal for anyone wanting to stay in the Old City of Damascus. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a little yard in the middle. Our room was also beautifully decorated and especially the bathroom... more

Just came back from another wonderful stay in Damascus, but this time was different! A totally wonderful experience inside the walls of Beit Akbik, a wonderfully totally new hotel.
