Having booked a stay at the Doha Sheraton, we were quite concerned to read two negative reports about the hotel on Tripadviser and considered changing our plans. Fortunately, just before doing that, a positive report was published and we left things as they were.....and we're so glad that we did. Although the hotel is one of the older ones in... more

The Sheraton used to be an iconic hotel in the Gulf - its shape as a pyramid set it apart from its peers, but that is no longer a reason to choose it in Doha. I stayed for five night and wasn't overly impressed by the overall package. The plus points: - the dual level rooms were nice - it... more

The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel to go to the theme parks at all. It was so hot and busy there, we couldn't wait to get back to the peace and tranquility of the hotel. Restaurants are great. more

- how did I get there ? upon recommendation of a local friend - location: great spot in the modern part of Doha (right across the street from the Four Seasons) with own nice private beach - lobby & facilities: plenty of space, super clean, nice furniture, plenty of services available on site (cafés, restaurants, shops, business centre, pub, bank,... more

Very old inside, in desperate need of renovation. Trades as 5 star but 2.5* is more realistic. There's a decent Irish bar in the basement and a very tired bar/club upstairs. I've never ever seen so many prostitutes in one place. All Filipino, and very much in your face looking for business. Not at all pleasant. Oh, and you have... more

I've spent a total of about 6 months living in various hotels around Doha, and the Sheraton is definitely my least favourite. With a few glowing exceptions, service is lackluster and uncaring. Facilities are quite old and public areas are in desperate need of a refurbishment. The restaurants are far and away the worst of any international hotel in Doha... more

Nice location, great rooms, above average, club lounge, lively bar scene in the basement Irish bar. I've been staying every week for the last coupleof months on business. They staff are great, can't do enough for you. Rooms are large and well appointed. Tip - ask at reception how much to upgrade to a club level room, usually QAR150. You... more

have spent many weeks at this hotel in 2006, 2007, 2008 Positives: The rooms are nice, with a large variety of suites. The staff in the club lounge is excellent. Negatives: The sales manager is dishonest, they selectively recognize Starwood elite benefits more

The Sheraton Doha has gotten used to being the main hotel in town. Being fully booked all the time, they simply do not care about the guest experience. Management has directly said as much. Fortunately for travellers, that is changing fast. There are a lot of new rooms that have and are coming online in other places around town. Go... more

This spectacular pyramid shaped building used to be the best in Doha but has now been well surpassed by the clutch of new international properties that have opened. Its still prefectly adequate but getting a bit "tired" and the attention to detail is slipping - TV/fridge in the room don't work properly, shower handles fall off etc etc. Room service... more
