I had a transit stop in Doha for 13.5 hours. As we landed at 12,00 and next flight not until 01.30am, we decided to venture into Doha with a visitor visa payable at the airport. Stayed at the Grand Suites hotel for 4 nights in June. Agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewer who mentioned the quirks that the hotel has, and the fact that no taxi driver knows where it is (ask if they know where the Diamond Hotel is.. it's next door... or the Qatar National Library, across the roundabout)... I recently stayed at the Grand Suite Hotel for 10 days, primarily on business for my non-profit organization. This place is a secret right now since it was opened only a month or two ago -- it's a good find in Doha at a great price, but you have to be a bit flexible and put up with some quirks.... more
