I stayed at the Monroe because it was close to the location of a wedding I was attending and was greatly disappointed with my overall experience. Check in took about 30 minutes, when there was nobody else at the desk. The receptionists (4 of them) were busy doing nothing at the time. Staff were unfriendly, and unwelcoming. I was upgraded... more

I read the mixed reviews on tripadvisor for the Monroe Hotel but had no influence over the hotel I used for my stay as it was part of a block booking through work. Despite my low expectations I was dissapointed throughout my stay, for several reasons: 1) Check-in (when we arrived at 4.30am - not a peak time) took 30... more

This has to be one of my worst experiences at hotels. Definitely not worth its 4 star rating, nor its price. I booked at this hotel for a business trip for me and my colleagues. My room was average, not very clean, and noisy. The fan didn't work properly. But the real problem was when I entered my room on... more

Great location, walking distance to downtown shopping area and restaurants. Staff was very friendly and the view is breathtaking. would definetly stay there again if I go to Beirut. I would recommend it to business travelers, families, and vacationers. more

We thought the hotel would be different but the location was a bit far from the downtown area. They should not have told us it is in Downtown plus the room decoration is not one of a deluxe hotel more

The Monroe has just reopened after a few months renovation. Top designs, great atmosphere, great service. Well trained, friendly and service oriented staff...Highly recommendable. I stayed there for 5 days, and I really enjoyed the experience, feeling almost at home. Try the Sanderson restaurant which features great and interesting fusion cuisine. more

Was supposed to stay there for 5 nights, but quickly checked out after the first night. Room was not up to standards of a deluxe hotel, and the bathroom was filthy. This is a no frills hotel at a deluxe hotel price. more
