Good simple hotel used by many of the cabin crew or by expats escaping Saudi for a beer. It is not expensive and it is clean, you can buy alcohol and get a bacon sandwich. There is a fun little bar and a taxi service - remember to haggle. Hotel is a little dated. more

The Golden Tulip is a fine example of 1970's Modernism, its a shame that is is just a little run down. The interior is fine, but without a major renovation in the last decade, parts are starting to show thier age. I opted for an "executive floor room" but given the very bad WiFi signal (very slow and cuts out... more

It was just perfect. Check-in have been made in 2 minutes, I have got my room and after 10 minutes, while I was about to get to shower door knocked: it was a man with a big basket of 7 with a personal greeting message from hotel management! Was very surprised and touched :) Food in restaurant was fresh and... more

This hotel is tired looking and rooms were too grubby for what you are paying. Room service took forever, reception not very helpful - maybe a bit understaffed? One redeeming point is that one of the few authentic Japanese restaurants in Bahrain, Kei, is at this hotel. more

Central location for the Diplomatic area. The building is old and the furnishings tired. This hotel offers what most business travellers would class as 3 star service and poor restaurants. Easy to see why no longer wanted in the Hilton brand family. Across the road is the 4 star Sheraton, if you can afford it and they have space, go... more

for a medium range hotel this is a great choice. The food is fantastic. Bathrooms need more attention in the corners. more

I stayed at this hotel for business. It apparently was one of the few hotels with room availability. Contrary to a recent comment, I ended up with a room decorated probably in the 1980’s. It was fairly clean, but there was a dark footpath in the carpet and needed replacement; thankfully the hotel provided slippers. The bathroom sink and bathtub... more

First off, I was a little bit worried about some of the comments of this hotel, once i booked my room. Yes the comments are over one year old, but I went for it, mostly for the price range... I was there last month, and wasn't dissapointed at all! Stayed at a new renovated room on the 6th floor. Buffe... more

This was the first time I stayed in this Hotel and was a little concerned by the reviews I read here, but the hotel was good, the staff were helpful. From the moment I arrived until I left nothing was too much trouble. Yes the building is dated but the staff attitudes were not. Would I stay there again -... more

Travelling from Scotland I stayed in the Golden Tulip for 2 nights before travelling on to Saudi Arabia. I found the staff to be polite and helpful although the reception proceedings can seem to take forever with not much conversing whilst you are being checked in or out. Our room was a good size, clean and the towels and linen... more
