As a regular Intercontinental and prioirtyclub business traveller i expect a good service standard. Unfortunately my experience in this hotel was a very poor. I had loud chatting , hovers and cleaning noises on the door of my room 433 at 4:30 in the morning. After investigating it turned out the staff are cleaning rooms for an early arrival flight!... more

I'd like to refer to the report from Travekducky2, December 2008: my experience of this Hotel is very similar to his. About the room, the only different thing is that I did have a tub in the bathroom, but no bidet. Space, good furniture, fruit, water, TV, enormous comfortable bed etc as noted. I also had complimentary wi-fi access, I... more

The hotel is well kept, clean and of decent standard. But the restaurants and shops are as boring as they only get in a international hotel chain. more

The Intercon was a disappointment for me. The rooms and common areas (eg lobby and restaurants) are dated and in a bad need of a renovation, despite its branding and premium pricing. Location was also an issue. Its isolated away from anything. The location map in the hotel's web page is very misleading. The property is very large and the... more

The InterContinental Riyadh is already scheduled for renovation in January 2010. This will include the lobby, suites, restaurants and meeting rooms. The hotel is located within the city of Riyadh, approx. 10-15 minutes away from the city center and shopping areas. Due to its location, many companies and embassies have rated this hotel as the most secured and far from...

I have recently stayed in the Intercontinental and enjoyed the stay very much. Coming in through the hydraulic anti-ram barrier is a bit daunting but after spending some time in Saudi you get used to the enhanced security and it simply becomes a part of your every day life. The room I had was great, a large Queen bed in... more

Am a frequent visitor (business traveller) of the Intercon in Riyadh. It's not a bad hotel but it doesn't compare to Intercons anywhere else in the world. It's all a bit dated... Its strong points are food (great breakfast and dinner buffets), the gym and swimming pool. However, do expect a fair number of locals with their kids crowding the... more

The InterContinental Riyadh is the first hotel in Riyadh city. During its existence, there had been numerous renovations, the latest of which was in the year 2004. The management has just announced that the renovation of the lobby, suites, restaurants, and meeting rooms will take place in January 2010.

My second time here in a year. The hotel is well equipped and spacious, indeed an oasis one might say. Food in the one main restaurant is very good and varied with helpful staff. Room service seems to work well and very varied choice. Housekeeping is to a good standard and consistent. The only gripe, and this is a second... more

Personalized service has been implemented coupled by a re-orientation of all Front Office Agents to the InterContinental Hotel's brand service of "Calling Guests by Name". Roster has been reviewed to beef-up manning during peak hours so as to ensure personalized assistance to all arriving and departing guests.

Standard rooms are very big and clean with a good range of extras includng free internet. The hotel is used almost exclusively by people on business and as such the outdoor pool and terraces are little used and are in desperate need of a facelift. The food in the restaurants is very ordinary and expensive. Unfortunately it is miles from... more

Unlike its really excellent sister hotel in Jeddah, this Intercon does not impress. As an Ambassor Level Guest, which priviledge costs good money, I and my colleague got no special recognition and the hotel is just too big and impersonal for my tastes. Fortunately we only stayed one night and that was enough. The staff are friendly enough, in a... more

WHERE: Intercontinental Hotel, Riyadh WHEN: Dec 08 WHO: I spend probably 20% of my time on the road for business, this trip included. I typically stay at Hiltons and Marriotts, with the occasional Sofitel or Star Hotels thrown in for good measure. This is relevant to my rating of this hotel, as someone else was paying the bill. My review... more
