We stayed two Nights in Odeh's wonderful hotel and we felt really lucky that we found a place like this to sleep. The place is spotless clean, rooms are big and the bed is comfy. Odeh himself will do anything to make your stay unforgettable. This is a 10 out of 10 recommendation. If you make it to madaba -... More

We used Odeh's place as our base camp for a week. The rooms are simple but cleans and tidy. Odeh was really helpful to organize our trip, and we felt completely at home. Don't hesitate to ask, he will make your trip easier

I tried to stay at the Black Iris Hotel for my last day in Jordan after a 6-day trip. We needed two rooms : one for my friend and me, and one for our local guide from Petra. At the beginning, a woman took care of us at the lobby, saying that two rooms were available. Then, the manager arrived... More

Excellent - so glad we came here! My husband & I were tired after nearly two weeks. The hotel is clean, Internet, & TV work, breakfast was one of the best we had in Jordan. Owner provided spot on directions. We saw other happy tourists from single women to families. Book in advance- especially during high season

We stayed in September 2014 for two nights. We were promptly collected from the airport and arrived late at the hotel. Our room was clean although there was no hot water. We asked for this to be turned on and this was done. Breakfast was fine. The hotel was very quiet while we were there and we met very few... More

We stayed at Black Iris during the Christmas holiday 2014 and used it as a base for excursions to the Dead Sea area, Amman and Jerash. The hotel is very nice, has a good traditional breakfast and can offer a variety of excursions in the area. Service level is high, prices reasonable and the driver we had was very good... More

My husband and I finished off our two week trip to Jordan with a two night stay at the Black Iris. This hotel was, hands down, the best hotel for the money we found in all of Jordan. The owner, Odeh, was personable, accommodating and very helpful (not to mention a fabulous cook). A traditional Jordanian breakfast was included in... More

I stayed at the Black Iris for 4 days in November, 2014. I was a solo female traveler and felt welcomed and comfortable. The breakfast is great and the rooms are clean. Odeh, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about forward travel and fun to hang with the in living room for a chat. I booked a day trip through them... More

We stayed in this hotel for two nights, so we could visit Madaba/Mount Nebo and because Madaba is the closest city to Airport. Therefore this hotel is a very good alternative to the airport hotel (around 80 dinar cheaper), because the hotel is within half an hour distance from the airport. The hotel itself is clean and nice and it... More

The Black Iris was recommended to me by a casual acquaintance and we stayed from 24 - 27 October 2014. The hotel is excellent. Don't expect the height of luxury but you can expect a very clean, comfortable room where everything works and a very good price. The breakfast is fine, and the location is good, close to downtown Madaba.... More
