Stayed in the Liwan on 3 separate occasions on a recent trip to Amman. Its located in the west, but only about a 15 minute / 3 JD taxi ride from downtown. Reception is clean and bright and the staff at reception were really helpful with good English. Yes there is a smell of cigarettes, but this is fairly normal... More

As part of tour group, we stayed two nights with a different hotel in between. First night our room was almost suite-like. Bathroom modern and squeaky clean. Second night was in a totally different quality of room, which didn't even have a hair dryer! Food was average. The front desk folks friendly. Bellhops did a nice job of being ready... More

When booking a hotel online for Amman it's hard to know what the total will be. 'Booking' and others sites say a price but you need to add the extra 16% city tax and 10% service fee. So US$50.00 sounds reasonable for a basic hotel but this hotel is def not worth $63/$65.00 Location is far from downtown. The hotel... More

Part of a tour group, we found the Liwan to be average at best. As mentioned by another guest, the numbering system of the rooms is confusing. It took awhile to find the room. The room was clean, but one bed had a saggy mattress which made for a difficult sleep. The bathroom and other accommodation was fine. No wifi... More

I was recommended the Liwan by an acquaintance in a bar in Aqaba. I am very glad that upon my next visit to Amman that I took up this advice and checked into the Liwan for one night. A good standard of finish, English speaking receptionist and OK location ensured a comfortable stay. The decor is a little dated, but... More

We stayed here on two occasions as part of an organised tour. Our first room was large with a modern walk in shower which gave us high expectations however it was dirty under the bed and our second room was far from modernised with a massive crack in the old bath and no hot water to the sink. The manager... More

Booked by our tour company, the Liwan was an average hotel in Amman. The food was good, but the hotel was very smokey, and the staff weren't really on the ball. All our tour groups room cards expired, the internet had to be paid for, and then trying to connect was driving everybody nuts. The drainage in the bathroom didn't... More

I stayed here as part of a tour I was on, and the reviews I'd read previously about dirty dises etc being left in stairwells is accurate. However, the room was clean, bathroom was decent, and there was plenty around in terms of shops etc. I was confused by the numbering system of the rooms as they didn't correspond with... More

I did stay at Liwan Hotel in Amman as part of a tour in Jordan. Definitely I don't recommend this hotel. It is clean and the location is ok. It is very far away from downtown… you'll be in need of a cab all the time. Staff is helpful (sometimes), breakfast is poor and there isn't free wi-fi. If you... More
