The Commodore hotel is just a bit past it's prime, looking shabby around the edges and not entirely awe-inspiring. But for the lower end of the traveller market it is safe, reasonably clean and reasonably functional. The local area has a supermarket and some interesting places to walk around. As a budget traveler, I am used to staying in inexpensive hotels, but this hotel just isn't a bargain. The carpeting in the room was dirty, the curtains torn, the lamp cord was taped in several spots, the bathroom had a distinct sewer odor and there was no mattress pad, just a thin sheet. We arrived to Amman Jordan in a large group mostly family oriented. It is an overall good hotel. The coffee we ordered from room service was very good, the breakfast buffet was in good taste and prepared well!! The staff was friendly, they have a private hooka / bar lounge with a one man band . Generally a very nice stay. We were there once at the beginning of our trip and once at the end. The room was a great size, and had everything you would expect. The only wierd thing was that we had a double bed, but both times, the sheets on the bed were not big enough - and only came halfway... more
