Don't expect a luxury hotel; but the rooms and public areas are clean and comfortable and the staff charming and helpful. The bathroom was nice, but could have done with a couple of clothes hooks and a lick of paint on the (repaired) door frame. The place is redolent of old colonial atmosphere and SO restful - yet is so... More

Good: 1. Location, 2. Views from public balconies (we got a room with a view to the back garden, which was a little bit seedy), 3. Atmosphere – Magical :-). In and out. Could be better: 1. Breakfast was disappointing. 2. Rooms: very basic. Shower: It took the water FOREVER to get hot… Bottom: Only If you are willing to... More

We had lunch here as a party in a room specially for us during a tour. It was a wide ranging and excellent buffet, eastern Med style, hot and cold, everything you could want, with lovely strong coffee at the end. It was Shrove Tuesday and they even made us some impromptu pancakes when somebody asked! The staff were delightful... More

We-a couple-stayed at the St Andrews the second week of February. The guesthouse is in a great location, an easy 15 minute walk to the old city. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and each morning starts with a delicious hot breakfast. The guesthouse has several large common rooms where the guests can congregate; this is a great plus,... Over Christmas, it was a close tie between the Jerusalem Hotel and St Andrew's Scottish Guesthouse. In the end, the former won because of the location. St Andrew's Scottish Guesthouse is perfect if you have a car. A wonderful view from the rooms, which are large, clean and friendly. A lovely large breakfast. Wonderful staff. It was a really great... Hard to fault the Scottish Guest House for anything. Very clean, and accommodating, they managed to get all four of us into a room with three single beds and a fold up bed for the fourth. It was a bit tight, but it was less than the apartment would have been which wasn't available anyway. No matter, we were gone... More

I stayed here for 9 nights during a business trip. For me the location was ideal, a short (10-15 minute) stroll from Jaffa Gate and slightly similar distance from Yaffo Street. The staff were very friendly and I was impressed with the size of my room. Although I didn't have a great view from my room (like some of the... More

My wife and I just returned from two weeks in Jerusalem where we only stayed at St Andrew's. Its rooms are rather basic, although many of the bathrooms are undergoing updating. That being said on many other levels it was excellence by any measure. First and foremost the staff were uniformly courteous, friendly, professional and extremely responsive and helpful. The... More

Wonderful jewel of a place in Jerusalem. Had a room overlooking the old city and we felt we were transported back to the time of Christ. A cool 20min walk if you are so inclined, which we did. Delicious breakfast with eggs made to order and fresh orange juice. Love the bread and dips.Stayed there for 2 nights. Basic but... More

A friend and I stayed here a few years ago. It is walkable to the Old City and near a bus line as well, between two main roads. Chapel was lovely as was the gift shop. Food was wonderful, the chef liked to experiment making new dishes every morning. Staff was more than friendly, in fact one of the night... More
