To be honest, when our friends said we were booked in a monastery we thought we might be sleeping on a slab floor. Anything but - rooms were huge, clean and comfortable. Grounds were immaculate and very quaint. The breakfast was excellent. A minor point is that they should consider maintaining access to the coffee machine all day as gardens... More

Try finding a quiet, calm hotel/guest house in the area St george is located and I can safely say that it would be hard to find something like this. Even though this remains as a guest house it doesn't fall short of any star hotel, the ambience is fantastic, surrounding gardens are serene and relaxing. The rooms are clean, spacious... More

St. George's is a quite haven in East Jerusalem a short walk from the Old City. The rooms in the guest house are all unique having been created from the Jerusalem stone used to build the Cathedral Close. There are regular church services in the adjacent cathedral that you can attend as you wish. Typical middle eastern breakfasts and dinners... More

Even at this time of unrest in Jerusalem, St George's is a haven. The place is within easy walking distance of the Old City. Security is real but unobtrusive. Rooms are clean, uncluttered with comfortable beds, air conditioning and a small toilet / shower ensuite. The gardens are lovely - quiet and shady. Resident cats stalk through the bushes and... More

Most of the rooms are renovated, those on upper floor, in the attic and in the garden are less noisy, more spacious and comfortable. My favorite is a suite-like room n. 38. Staff is easy-going and helpful. Cleanliness is acceptable. Location is good for exploring the Old City. What is special about the guest house is its authentic, old Jerusalem... More

St. George's is a very good choice for lodging in Jerusalem and for several reasons. This was our third trip to Jerusalem and while we've stayed in good places previously, St. George's was the best by far. First, it's beautiful. This is a cathedral/garden setting with plenty of space to roam around and to sit in the courtyard to read... More

I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The situation is absolutely beautiful, very calm and relaxed. Make time to sit in the courtyard with a coffee and a book before rushing off to see Jerusalem. The breakfast was plentiful and the coffee good. Rooms uber clean and really comfortable beds. What more could you ask for?

We stayed here on our Pilgrimage and loved it. Very close to the Old City and the Damascus Gate. The rooms are spacious with limestone walls and arched doorways. The bath is small, but everything rooms, public areas, etc are beautiful and clean. The staff is very helpful. The food and service was excellent.

St. George's is a lovely place to get away from the tension, business and chaos of the old city and all of Jerusalem and it is only a short walk to the Damascus Gate. It is in a fabulous location. Once inside the gates you are greeted warmy by the staff and invited into the beautiful garden. The guest rooms... More

In the close or courtyard of St George's Cathedral, and the seat of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem, the Guest House is at once a grand architectural experience with the limestone walls, and the fewest steps ever to a Eucharist service at 7 AM. A global Anglican community supports this complex: Arab Christian, English, Canadian, American, Irish -- eh g'day!... More
